My wife and I are going through the Taco Cleanse and will be spending some time in Portland next week. Other than Los Gorditos and Santeria Taqueria, any other recommendations for taco places? And any recommendations for Mexican grocery stores (anywhere within Portland is doable for us).
Thank you.

Here's what was recommended on the event page when the authors were in PDX: Cruzroom, El Nutri-Taco, Blossoming Lotus (lunch), Robo Taco, and Mi Mero Mole.

I'd add:

Portland Mercado! Most, if not all, of the trucks are vegan-friendly. It's a food truck start up program by Hacienda CDC
http://www.portlandmercado.org/

Verde Cocina, who has 1 or 2 locations and a good stop for food if you are the Portland Farmers Market (Sat). Super fresh veggies and ingredients.

In Portland, unless you seek it out, the tacos are going to be a bit more about amazing NW produce...

3 sisters tortillas & masa are really great - you can get them at New Seasons and the Peoples' Coop (and they sell them fresh at the Wed. weekly market outside).

I don't know the names, but there are a bunch of Mexican markets and even a supermercado or 2 in Hillsboro, outside Portland.

What do you think is good at the Portland Mercado? It's an awesome place but I haven't had any food there that blew me away. I took my daughter to a tortilla making class for kids though and it was super cool.

Thank you jdfunks, we'll try to hit up the farmers market for Verde Cocina.
