Hey! Sorry if a thread like this already exists, but I couldn't find it. Visiting in late summer for a few days (first time!), and I would love suggestions for places you'd absolutely have to hit up with limited time.

What are your top 5 food spots? Vegan restaurants or just vegan options are fine. I like a mix of fancy and casual, and if reservations would be necessary for 5-6 people, a heads up would also be great. Thxxxx!!!

My suggestions are probably outdated, I haven't been to Portland since late September. When I go I always go get soft Serve at Back to Eden cart (usually twice in one day), breakfast at Juniors (omni but has vegan options), Bye and Bye or Sweet Hereafter (all vegan bars with food). I also like Vita for breakfast and Sweetpea for baked goods.

My list is already really long and we're months away. I think my travel buddies might kill me.

I'm not trying to be an asshat, but I am genuinely perplexed-- there are dozens of threads here, and every few weeks someone comes in asking the same question of "I'm coming to Portland. I have a big list. What can't I miss?"

Well, what do YOU like, creep? What do you look for? Budget? Cuisines? Happy hour? Family-friendly? Brunch? Stuff you can't get where you are?

Everything everyone else said, well, said it, but if there are more weird parameters we can go on and on : )

Oh, if you've never been to a vegan fast food-ish place, Veggie Grill and Next Level Burger are fun! (over Native Foods)

Maybe it's a difficult subject to search for since everyone phrases that same question differently, because I did do a brief search, and maybe I'm misreading tone, but it sure does seem antagonistic to mention something I specifically said I attempted to do in the very first sentence of my post. But thanks for the links, and thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

I honestly like a pretty wide variety of stuff and love hearing other people's suggestions and reasoning and then checking out menus and going from there. I guess if I'm trying to be specific, omni restaurants with great vegan options would be nice, since my boyfriend isn't psyched about eating at vegan restaurants for every meal, but I'm traveling with another vegan and a vegetarian as well. Budget isn't really an issue. We really only have casual vegan/vegetarian restaurants here, so higher end vegan food is always pretty exciting, but I'm very open as far as type of cuisine is concerned.

Snackrilege has sold their cart to focus on their wholesale business. Deb Kay in Longview bought it, but doesn't know what she is going to do with it yet.
