If we actually make it down there for that.

Portobello! Or fried pies, to keep it classy.

Probably Portobello...it's the fancy place in town. However, if you can't get in and want some comfort food, I really like Vita Cafe on Alberta Street.

Portobello or Blossoming Lotus or Bete-Lukas, if she has a thing for Ethiopian.

We've done Blossoming Lotus and we've got ton-loads of Ethiopian places up here.

I'm thinking Portobello.

Do it. You won't be sorry.

(appropriate because it's Italian, right? right?).

Portobello. I was there last night. We had truffle pizza with cream sauce, truffle paté, pesto gnocchi. Cranberry cocktails. Totally divine.

Another vote for Portobello. I wish I had ate there every day when I was in Portland.

Another vote for Portobello. Whatever chef does to his tomatoes is like crack to me. CAN NOT GET ENOUGH.

So far, Portobello sucks. Instead of kicking people out so we could sit down, they're making us wait! My child is grumpy, my wife's in a bad mood, and the restaurant is just carrying on like it's business as usual.

Have you let them know that you're leaving them less than glowing reviews on the ppk? That might put a little pep in their step.

You might have thought they couldn't! But they're still doing it!

Seated about 20 minutes ago. So far, no mention of comping our meal.

Unless you get there right when they open, you always have to wait. That's just the way it is. It's annoying, but you learn to live with it for the sake of awesome food. Hope you like the food. I was annoyed with them last week when they were supposed to be open, drove all the way down there to get to a closed restaurant. Grrr.

Well, you and I and the rest of humanity have to wait. But Footface??!! On his wife's birthday??!! Did you not tell them that you have a blog, Footface?
