I am going on a field trip to Portland tomorrow, my first time there. We will be let loose in Pioneer Square for an hour. What's worth seeing there?

The actual square?
You can walk around downtown a bit...
There's a couple great coffeeshops nearby - Coffee Plant and Public Domain Coffee (closed), Shelley's Honkin Huge and the No Fish Go Fish cart if you're hungry, a Spice store a block away...

The dueling Indian carts are somewhat nearby at SW 12th and Alderish...

the pretty and huge library is nearby as well.
