I did! Really digging it so far. Actually haven't officially moved yet but I got a new job so I'm working and camping out in my new (old) van. Anybody know of a cool place to live? I've got a few prospects in Seabright from CL and I hope to make it to a vegan co-op house dinner this evening..

Welcome to Santa Cruz! I live in the Seabright area as does at least one other PPKer, and the illustrious ameyfm used to live here. It's a great neighborhood. Don't know of any particular apartments for rent right now that are awesome, but I like this area and you can sometimes (sometimes) find vaguely affordable places. Santa Cruz affordable, anyway.

We have little potlucks every 5-6 weeks, so we'll be sure to include you. It will be great to see you again! :) welcome!!!

Enjoy my home town. You couldn't pay me to live there. I'm not sure how anyone can afford to live there anymore. I can't even imagine what an apartment comparable to mine in the northern valley costs.
Can't beat the weather though.

Rent is a little more affordable in the Felton/Ben Lomond/Boulder Creek areas if you don't mind a 20-30 commute into Santa Cruz. Plus, it's easier to find a place that will let you have a pet and you can have a little more solitude, if that's your thing.

We lived in Ben Lomond until recently and while there are some things I hated about it (distance from things, the general disposition of many of the local residents, lack of restaurants to eat at, the 35 bus, etc) there are some great things about it. You can rent a house WITH a yard for an almost reasonable price! Landlords who allow pets! Redwoods in your back yard! Close proximity to Henry Cowell, Big Basin, etc.

yeah, the Wednesday market behind Logos bookstore. I guess it's on Lincoln and Cedar? It goes 1:30-5:30 (those are the winter hours). Sophia and I usually get there around 1:30 or 1:45.
