This place is the shiitake. Pretty cheap, enormous, tasty sandwiches that feel like a bowling ball in my backpack. If there is one thing I've noticed about SF, it's that there are brilliant sandwiches to be had. Make sure you specify vegan even when ordering sandwiches that say vegan next to them because apparently they'll put mayo on it if you don't. If they had vegenaise this place would be perfect.

I've always been meaning to go there!
Every time I thought of it I ended up going to Ike's Place...But someday I'll make it there

Love N Haight is fine by me! I don't go often because I'm never in the neighborhood, and I live a block from Ted's Deli, which does a similar thing (less types of fake meats, but the same giant sourdough rolls with tofurky slices and all the fixins).

I do love those little pepperoncini they have.

I will be tolerating my dull-ass job today trying to figure out a place where we can watch the game...but maybe it can be in the Lower Haight, and maybe sandwiches will accompany us?!

There is a small chance my roommate might need me, but that's a conversation for facebook, during my dull-ass workday. :)

But yeah...they kind of put WAY too much fake meat on their sandwiches, but it's a bargain protein for your buck. Or something.

Just don't mind the masturbating rhubarb that is there sometimes!

YES! But you could bring your own... I've done it before and I'll do it again.

(I'm also the kind of person who brings my favorite brand of ketchup along if I know there will be french fries... Weird, I know.)
