Vegan Cafe in the Tenderloin called Little Bird

Just realized there's a cafe in my neighborhood that has Vegan Egg-Mcmuffins, blueberry waffles and quite few other options.

I had the sandwich this morning for the first time and was really impressed -- english muffin, good tofu scramble, daiya cheddar....I think it's instantly become my favorite breakfast/brunch option.

awesome! I actually read an article in the paper about them recently because they're experiencing crazy SF-style bureaucracy for just wanting to have a few tables outside. Great to hear they're so vegan friendly. I hope they get their tables.

Went there again this morning, they grill the sandwhich like a panini and it sticks together good for on-the-go.

Toppings like pistacio pesto, there was vegan soup and you can get bagels with EB

Loved it! The english muffin breakfast sandwiches were great (I added slow-roasted tomatoes to mine, which I HIGHLY recommend). I also had a citrus fruit salad (white grapefruit, blood orange, regular orange, cara cara orange). Also, the sandwiches are cheap ($3 + $0.50 for add-ons), as was my fruit salad ($2). They had coffee by Ritual and De La Paz, and the women at the counter were really nice and helpful. I will definitely be detouring by this place to grab stuff to bring to work.

Well aren't we the sophisticated orange afficianado! Quoting Wikipedia:

Dude, you must try cara cara oranges! I had no idea what they were and randomly picked some up at the farmer's market a couple weeks ago, and I'm now obsessed. I was never that into oranges, and I don't normally snack on fruit, but I was literally bringing 2 or 3 for a snack every day to work! Try 'em!

By the way, SF Gate has an article this morning saying the dispute over sidewalk tables is over, in favor, but it will still take some time for things to work through the SF bureaucracy.

I just got back from here, it was kinda too late for me to consider breakfasty food except that I can eat a donut at any time of the day, so I got my first ever Pepples donut and was very excited about that ... also I got a very tasty latte and realized after ordering that I could have gotten house made soy milk! Ahhh ... I'm going to be spending a lot of mornings here.

yeah, their menu says which items are specifically gluten free -- I've never paid too much attention but I'm pretty certain the waffles are gf.
