Any recommendations? Vegan places? Where have you gone?

I got my newest tattoo at No Ka Oi and I was really happy with it.

Both una and boober have gotten work done at Davidian, wyvern and I are actually going there this weekend for a consultation!

Rich from davidian did a big piece on my ribs. He does really good work. Jason Goldberg from olde city tattoo is also phenomenal.

hey, mr. carrot made an appointment for tuesday with joey knuckles at art machine (they can use eternal ink), but totally forgot to order some aftercare. anyone know of any places that sell vegan aftercare? (he was going to order black cat, anyone have suggestions of brands? i'm assuming tattoo parlors carry aftercare? who knows, maybe art machine carries it. but they're closed right now.)

and he did a smaller tattoo of mine back when he was at mercury. would recommend.

So if you go to these places would you guys would say they're knowledgeable about vegan inks and such? I'm not sure if there are certain colors are vegan or are non-vegan and such. Pretty much a newb at this

i wouldn't recommend joey knuckles. he was kinda dismissive about veganism, and hinted at being malicious toward another vegan i used to know (i mean, i can understand, this dude was one of those veganazis, and was probably asking thorough questions, and got on joey's nerves.) also, joey didn't know that glycerine can also be made from non-vegan sources. he was only talking about bone char. he also used a salve to prep the skin (which i'm assuming was A&D ointment, since that seems to be popular in the tattooists forums i was reading. not only is there lanolin, but cod liver oil and beeswax) and as aftercare, he suggested curel (lanolin)

also, he called my cookies dry. :-/ (dude. they were a gift.) he said most vegan cookies he's had have been dry (uhhhh. not in my experience. i was aiming toward this level of crispiness, that's why i used the sticky fingers recipe.) jeez. he dominated the conversation and didn't want to listen. his art was really nice! i'll give him that, but he was definitely not vegan friendly.

(oh, and to top it off, he purchases dogs from breeders.)

Haha yikes! Doesn't sound like my cuppa tea. Its like he knows he's being a dick but doesn't care. I was hoping to go to No Ka Oi because a lot of their artist's style fits the delicate line work quality I'm looking for. Hope to get a cat skull tattoo with refund check money :33

I've been putting off getting my tattoo for awhile, cos i'm pretty intimidated by it but i really want one. No Ka Oi seems like it has a really nice atmosphere. I haven't been there yet but just from the website, it seems a lot more friendly than a stereotypical tattoo parlor.
Does anyone know if No Ka Oi has vegan ink available? I'm assuming so, since they were recommended here, but i'm a total newbie to tattoos so i'm nervous about the whole thing in general. And i would really, really hate to have some sort of misunderstanding and end up with bone char injected into my skin.
