Made my first trip to Dock Street since going "vegan" and I had their "vegan" pizza and their trio fries (white and sweet potato fries and leeks) and it was all to die for.

A) Anything else on the menu worth trying?
B) Any adjustments to the "vegan" pizza you'd make?
C) How does tofu even work on pizza?! Amazing.

And how can one place hire so many gorgeous people?!

I've only had what you had but I loved it! Sooo good. I want to go there when I'm in town. Meet up!

I had no idea that they served vegan food here! Did you get the pizza with red sauce or pesto? Im thinking the pesto would be good. And the bbq burger sounds really yummy!

I'll add it to the list and start coming up with excuses why I can't go! (No really, I'd be down for this maybe in the Spring when getting out to 50th street on a bike isn't so taxing.)

Yeah I was kind of disappointed at first because I had heard they had "vegan" pizza which, in my mind, meant Daiya or something. No fake cheese at all, but still a really good pie. I ordered red AND pesto (at the bartender's recommendation) but I think it was only delivered with red. If there was pesto, it was super subtle. When is pesto ever super subtle, right? So I probably had just red, and it was plenty. The pie was really good, but it was oily and the (otherwise nice) veggies conspired to leave a wet, oily residue on the plate that was a problem by the time I was on the last slice. I think this would have been an actual problem on the larger pie, but I got the small (10" I think) so the "wetness" of the slices due to the oil/watery residue wasn't too bad.

I'd say it's probably not worth a trek out there just for the "vegan" pie. The trio fries are pretty good, too, and if you're into beer then yeah, it all adds up. But then again, I didn't even look at the menu, which is why I started this thread. Didn't even know they had any burgers at all. We should have a meetup.

The pesto pizza is delicious, nice veggies and tofu is actually a nice compliment. The trio fries rule (crispy leeks!), the veggie burger is alright, never got the veggie wrap, the hummus is also good. I think those are the only vegan options, aside from a salad or two. I kind of want a pesto pizza right now even if its only 9am.

I enjoy Dock Street. I've only had the pizza and the trio fries though. Maybe next time I go I'll branch out. I'd definitely be there for a meetup.

do they really put quotations around the vegan? that's funny (and it would make me want to avoid eating there)

Heh. No. That's "all me." Their "vegan" pizza is probably quite non-sketchy. And based on the general vibe from the waitstaff there (it's all beards, keffiyehs, and tattoos) there's probably one or two "vegans" on the staff. Not that hipsters can be trusted.
