I'm pretty sure if I ate some meat it would clear up. You know, as every illness does.

Hmm, maybe you didn’t check that box when you filled out the vegan form?>

Think it was a choice between that or substantial dance moves.

I think I need to have a slice of The South Philly and the Fungi pizza tonight. They do slices right? I want to try everything!

They do slices, but they rotate which pies so if you don't see what you want ask them if there's any new slices coming up.

Anyone have thoughts on yesterday's Philly Weekly piece on BirdCore?

Didn't know one of our (Drexel's) LIS students started Grindcore. Gives me hope for my future, I guess. My favorite line: “We don’t always have vegan straight-edge hardcore on, but we do today,” chef Mark Mebus says from behind the counter as he serves up slices of seitan pepperoni and the already famous potato pie.

I am coming tonight with my friend Kate and my three year old. Since we probably wouldn't be able to make the Blackbird afterward because of my daughter's bedtime we are going to go before, probably around 5.

Good idea, please let them know we are coming and to prepare insane amounts of pizza!

I want to do a Philly Vegan Crawl! We meet someplace vegan (like Blackbird) eat, talk, whatever, then walk on to the next place and get more vegan goodies. We stuff ourselves but walk it off in between :) I'm just at the beginning stages of the idea and I need help mapping it out. Anyone interested?

My (non-PPK vegan) friend and I were just discussing a very very similar idea today. Our maniacal scheme remains top-secret for now (since I'm not sure if he'll want to have it be just a couple people or if we're going to try to make it a large group activity) but I'll let you know what we decide. :D

Awesome idea! I'm interested. We could start early for breakfast/brunch somewhere and just walk around the entire city!

I once did that just by myself in New York, using the Happy Cow app for my Droid phone and following the GPS. I walked forty blocks in one direction, ate at three places, shopped at two health food stores, and bought dessert to take home. Then I took the train home!

MELISSER!!! I am so sorry that I am not currently at the book signing. I really wanted to meet you! I'm sure it was a blast. I'm so disappointed.
Will you be anywhere tomorrow besides North Philly for Dos Segundos?

Ughhh. Which would of you jerks told me to go into litigation???

It was excellent seeing everyone/meeting everyone tonight! Also the pizza was delicious as ever, even if the faux-fetti cake was sub-par. I'm glad I came out even though I got an insane parking ticket. I hate South Street! But I love you guys.

SuperCarrot printed off name tags for people from PPK, and since I didn't have a PPK account until this morning, I got to wear your name tag last night. It confused a couple people who recognized your name/user pic. Don't worry, I didn't tarnish your name... too much ;-)

So much fun last night! I was in the corner, but I wasn't alone and I met knew people and talked and everything :)

Amanda sorry we did not get to talk, but I'm glad you made it to Blackbird. How are you feeling?

Randi, Melisser said she was going to try and come our way this afternoon before she hops on the bus for NY. You should try and catch up with her.

A little better, thanks! It's kind of in the "comes and goes" stage.

I'm also sorry we didn't get to talk! I feel like I kind of missed your whole side of the table. Next time!

I'm glad I got to see so many new and familiar faces last night. Even if it did take me almost 45 minutes to find a parking spot. Seriously, I had made up my mind to just drive home when I found a spot.
I'll have to go back to Blackbird so I can try the cheese steak.

Yes, the table was divided! I wanted to be at your end so I could taste that cake. But I am now realizing that the cake has probably been there since last Thursday.

We got really super lucky with parking somehow. It was a Philadelphia parking miracle!

I wish I lived in the city, I would be at Grindcore every day. That place makes me happy.

And, um the pepperoni pizza was fantastic!

I wasn't! It's my fault, the space where I parked was apparently not a parking space, despite the fact that people were parked in front of me and behind me and didn't get tickets.

Just lucky I guess.

WEIRD! haha. don't steal my identity yo!

Melisser I just saw GraciaKai's post- where are you! Are you going to be anywhere near Rittenhouse? I might get to take a break, run somewhere, wave and scream, and run back to the office!
