eric. started a convo about dottie's in the blackbird thread. viewtopic.php?p=857815#p857815

i miss cake donuts so hard, so i sent them a message through their facebook page, asking if they have plans of doing cake, and they said they need to buy the equipment, but they are going to do it!!

the first mention that they have chocolate cake with clear glaze, i will hop over to philly faster than you can say nostalgia!

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dotties- ... 8720375202 (there's a non-vegan place with the same name in the netherlands)

So, where are these vegan donuts available? Do they have a store front?

*Oh, never mind. I saw the other thread!*

I really wish we had regular vegan donut options besides Sweet Freedom and the Plymouth Meeting WF's weekend only donuts that sell out before 3pm. Or maybe not because I would eat them all the time! Cake donuts all the way!!

No storefront and from my understanding they only sell them on the weekends at a couple places throughout the city - Grindcore, Milk & Honey, and Vegan Commissary off the top of my head. You can follow them on Facebook and Instagram to get the exact locations - but beware, they sell out quickly (at least they do at Grindcore.) Very fluffy and light yeasted doughnuts that come in varying flavors that seem to be different each weekend.

A couple of weeks ago I went into Grindcore on a Thursday evening to get a Vegan Treats doughnut, only to find out they don't buy them from Vegan Treats anymore. I think the only places to get Vegan Treats doughnuts in the city are New Harmony and Mariposa Co-op. Blackbird stopped selling Vegan Treats all together.

As much as I like Vegan Treats, it's nice to see some other vegan goodie options around town. Hoping for more vegan bakery store fronts!

Satellite Cafe in west Philly still sells vegan treat donuts and they have the cake variety. The chocolate covered one tastes exactly like I remember Entemans donuts tasting like.

I just got two Dottie's from Milk and Honey and they were delicious! So happy to have another well made vegan variety with in walking distance

That is ridiculous. I pass 2 places that sell them on my way to work everyday. All my donut dreams have come true.

does anyone know their official stance on minor unvegan ingredients? they posted on their facebook page a donut with jimmies on it, and i asked them if it was a brand without confectioner's glaze, and i didn't get a response. then a few days later, they posted another donut and it said it had "coco pebbles" (was the mis-spelling intentional? are they not actually cocoa pebbles from post with the D3?)

anyway. just today, they posted about winter weekends at little baby's ice cream 4903 catharine street. every saturday and sunday, starting this weekend.

I don't know. I've been getting their donuts at Elixr since they started selling them and it's around the corner from my office and my normal coffee spot. But they never have the ones with cereal or sprinkles on them. I would call or keep pestering their facebook. Might be a hard question for one of them to answer on the fly.

Meanwhile I have a Speculoos donut sitting at my desk right now. DROOL!

Is there a list of their locations anywhere? I looked on their FB and I have Googled copiously without success. I want to know where to get my donuts!

i don't know if this is up-to-date since it's a fan-made site, but it's got some good info. (they really need this info up on their actual site.)

hey!

Figured I'd make a account and try to answer some of these questions.

We currently are looking for a space we have narrowed down a few ideal locations (all in west Philly) and should be opening if all goes according to plan in the spring.

We are working on a website that will keep everyone up to date on locations and availability but for now ill list it here.

Greenline (baltimore, locust and 40th street locations) everyday except wednesday
Joe coffee (both locations) everyday except wednesday
Grindcore everyday except wednesday and friday
Mari Posa Co-op everyday except wednesday
Hub Bub (spruce street location) everyday except wednesday
Hub Bub (arch street) fridays
Shot Tower fridays
Elixr everyday except wednesday
The Gold Standard cafe friday saturday sunday

Saturday and Sunday customers:
Little babies (west philly)
Milk and Honey
Satellite Cafe
Ultimo
B2
Benna's

I think thats it.

In the past we used a vegan sprinkle however when our supply ran out the manufacture changed the ingredients to include confectioners glaze so we have not used any sprinkle in about 6 months.

The coco pebbles were labeled vegan organic from wholefoods (cannot remember the brand but i will look next time i stop by) but again with the amount of orders we do now buying retail boxes of wholefoods cereal doesn't work anymore.

Ingredients are always changing and we are trying to steer Dotties into as any made in house toppings as possible.
Any allergy and/or ingredients questions feel free to email me at Dottiesdonuts@gmail.com or even a text (im scared of answering random phone numbers but great with texts) 716 43O 9338

Also feel free to email us about personal orders or catering a party we love events!

Ill try to check back here when i can but i am awful with computers. Thanks for the support!

Cant wait for everyone to come to our very own storefront.

-Jeff

Whoa! That is very cool, very excited for your upcoming Storefront, Jeff! Will you guys be sharing a space with Crust Bakery or will there be two separate storefronts?
