I really really hate the philadelphia airport.

I hate it for domestic flights too! It is really a wretched airport.

Our airport just seems to suck generally, and I've heard pilots make comments to that effect more than once. My favorite airport story is the time I was on plane trying to leave Philly, and the wheel of the plane got stuck in a hole in the tarmac as we backed away from the gate. We had to wait for someone to bring a truck to move the plane out of the hole, but it didn't work and we had to wait some more for them to bring a bigger truck. It was ridiculous.

I'm flying out of PHL today, blah. I somehow always seem to get lost, even though it is a small ish airport. I blame it on the lack of signs, or hidden signs.

When I lived in Philly I used to travel all the time for work and PHL is by far the worst airport I've ever been to!

They yelled at me for forgetting to take my shoes off at security!

I just bought my flight to London for the end of December. By this point (late in the game) and due to the time I'm going being probably the worst time to travel, USAir prices were pretty much as bad as the British Airways prices. So YAY, I'm taking BA and not USAir! Yayyyy! Of course, I fully expect the Philly handlers to lose my bag.

US Airways is now outperforming the other airlines in baggage handling. They've also made real improvements in on-time performance. I wouldn't be so hesitant to fly them.

Have you ever been to Minneapolis/St. Paul? Now that's a kick asparagus airport.


The one time my luggage was lost, it was actually at the Baltimore/Washington airport. I had been coming from San Francisco. First time flying. Good times. I don't remember which airline it was, though.

It's probably just my luck with the baggage, actually, and going over New Years (such a busy/bad time) I wouldn't be surprised if something happened. But it's good to hear USAir is improving things!

I have only been on a plane once. And it was a horrible experience. We went to Mexico, and Phila Int decided to put my luggage on the flight after mine because my plane was full. So I had to wait in Cancun airport for two hours until that flight came in so I could claim my luggage.

It's the worst airport I've been to, that I can remember anyway. Not that I've been to that many airports. But last time I had a 3-hour layover at PHL (cos i, uh, flew from Allentown to Philly and then to MKE), I was wearing a Vegan Treats hoodie and one of the workers kept walking by and commenting on it!

Then I saw another worker who had written "VICK" on the back of his vest. Though that says more about Philly in general than the airport.
