I'm attending the Sunday show of This Is Hardcore in a couple weeks and rather than be separated from my infant for the night, my boyfriend, toddler and baby are coming and will hang out in a hotel that night (after we take the toddler to the Please Touch Museum during the day and hopefully eat awesome vegan foods) while I go to the show. I think we'll probably check out Blackbird and maybe one other place on Sunday, but I'd like recommendations for a place to stop and get breakfast (can be take-out, we don't necessarily wanna try to eat in somewhere with both little ones) on Monday as we head back to NYC. Whattya think? boyfriend is partial to checking out Grindcore House just 'cause he loves the name and we both get stoked when a place has multiple non-dairy choices for coffee!

Grindcore is def a good option since they open early. Where are you staying, what neighborhood? The Soy Cafe might be a good place. I am not sure of their hours or breakfast menu options though. Sabrinas and Dos Segundas would work for restaurants, again check the hours for them. Weekday vegan breakfast might harder to find then on the weekends. Try Ms. Rachels Pantry and Green Eggs Cafe too. There is a place called the Satellite Cafe, but they don't have a website and I can't find a menu online. So I'm not sure if they have real breakfast food that is vegan or not. You could def go to Sweet Freedom Bakery if they are open early. Lots of baked goods there!

I second all of Gracia's suggestions. Satellite is a coffee shop--they have bagels with Tofutti or EB&nooch, and some other stuff (Vegan Treats, etc). If you're near south Philly, Benna's, B2 & Black & Brew all offer vegan breakfast options as well.

Green Eggs: http://greeneggscafe.com/ NoLibs & South Philly (& according to their site, there is a 3rd in center city now). This place is a little nicer than all the aforementioned spots. Cash only! Amazing breakfast burrito, some other vegan options.

Philly is severely lacking in good brunch options, especially on weekdays. If you like bagels, go to Grindcore. I highly recommend the sesame with scallion cream cheese and cucumber, or everything with jalapeno cream cheese and avocado. My second choice would be Green Eggs. They make a decent tofu scramble.

my personal favorite bagel&cream cheese combo at grindcore is the everything bagel with sundried tomato cream cheese. thinking about it makes me drool

Wait, who did I talk to about getting more gluten free items in at Grindcore? Was that you? Next time I come in I'm asking for Buttercup :o)

woooo thanks guys, I kinda forgot I made this thread! I'm getting very excited for Sunday.
It's going to be weird timing, because we're arriving that morning and will probably go right to the Please Touch Museum. But after that I'm not sure, because I want to get to the show by around 5 but also feel like I want to get everybody settled in the hotel before I leave them. We'll be staying near N. 16th and Vine.
