I think we're going to Zahav for my sister's birthday unless there's not enough vegan options, in which case she is willing to choose some place else. Is it worthwhile going? It looks like the only vegan stuff is the salatim/ hummus and eggplant, but I thought I had recalled vegans saying great things about it.

I think if you have a reservation and call ahead to prep the chef you could have vegan food prepped for you. But I doibt there is much on the menu. Ive never been, but normally the nicer restaurants will do take care of special diets with notice.

All the servers know what vegan means and you can get several dishes (some sans cheese) made vegan. My favorite being the fried cauliflower and the eggplant with couscous and tahini. The hummus is Israeli style legit, the fresh laffa bread rules, the salatim offers a good variety. They even have vegan desert- house made halvah and chocolate sorbet with some pomegranate sauce and pistachios. Zahav is by far my favorite fancy place to eat at.

Zahav is the best!!! So so jealous. The laffa and hummus there I think is my favorite ever. Omg.
