Omg. I hate cicadas. They are my worst nightmare, and now we live in the woods. Next time they are out here, I'm locking myself in my closet and not coming out until its over.

When I first moved to PA I had never seen or heard of a Cicadas before. I noticed a whole bunch of hole in my yard with creepy exoskeletons laying all around them. I wondered what committed such an insect genocide!
Now that we're a homeschooling family, this year will provide us with some exciting cicada science/biology study!
My friends wedding is outdoors in early June in Maryland. They're very excited for the cicadas.
I've never experienced a cicada swarm, but I have encountered June bug swarms North Texas, so I imagine it's about the same. Being unable to take a step outside without hearing a crunch underfoot is pretty gross.

Yeah . . . no barefoot walking in the grass for awhile. Which is a shame, because I love barefoot walking in the grass.
