Another gastropub and a bit north of the city in Kensington but if youve never been go.

They have vegan/veg options listed clearly and a rotating menu. Id say go with the veggie burger and add on their coconut bacon. Their coconut bacon itself is worth the trip. They also have legit brunch with a couple offerings oh and beer mimosas...

Its literally 2 slices of white bread. NOT good, not worth 8 bucks. None of their vegan brunch items are good. Im a hater, I dont care. Seriously, a full plate cafe and dos segundos is the way to go.

But if you really want a good brunch, make cornmeal waffles from vegan brunch, get the frozn chkn cutlets from the vietnamese grocery store on 6th and washington, bread them southern style, fry, serve on top of waffles. Real maple syrup, side of home fries browned in a cast iron skillet, you got the best brunch in all of philly in your very own kitchen.

Is this an invitation I hear?

sounds like it.

i agree, A full plate/cantina both have a much better french toast.

But the burger at Memphis is much better than any ive had from A full plate.

Ok, help me out kids. We are hitting up the Punk Rock Flea Market at 11. Its going to be cold, and I want a hearty sweet/savory fantastic brunch. What will be near me and what do you suggest? French toast is needed!

Went here tonight for the first time. My friend got that tofu, coconut smoked club sandwich thing and it was awesome. I got the coconut curry butternut stew. OMG it was so good. I wish it was bigger than it was because it was so delicious. I'm going to have to try and replicate it. So good. We looked at the brunch menu and said we would come back for the pumpkin french toast, but the reviews here don't make it sound worth it.

I just saw this placed on diners, drive-ins and dives (which I don't usually watch, but I saw "philly" and "tofu" so decided to check it out). Now I really want to try the coconut smoked club sandwich.

Their coconut club is pretty good! I'd get it again. I remember thinking it was a little small for a "club sandwich," but I was also ridiculously hungry that night. My friends and I had waited for a table at the new Khyber for over an hour before we gave up and headed to Memphis. I will have to try their veggie burger next time!

It's actually in a really decent neighborhood, very close to Greensgrow, not the slightest bit scary at all. I have never had any concerns about safety there either.

Ok good. Yeah I'm just terrified of Philly in general. And I'm from here! I think I'm just scared of the world. We have to have meetup there.

we may go here tomorrow. i called them and asked if their fryer oil is commingled, and it is (so anything fried is out for me), but my memory always crepes out when i'm on the phone. does anyone know if there's a separate section for vegan stuff on the grill too? if they don't have a vegan-specific grill spot, is there usually anything that we can eat if we're sensitive to/grossed out by cross contamination?

ok, i'll spoiler the sad news just in case any of you would prefer to stay in the dark.

good news first. the spaghetti sandwich is cooked on it's own surface, and you can replace the french fries with grilled green beans. (which suggests that they do keep a separate vegan surface.) and it's really tasty!

Spoiler: show
the jackfruit crabcakes for the po' boy and the coconut bacon are both deep fried in the shared oil.

i did have more gas than usual and loose poo the following morning, but we did go to 2 other omni restaurants over the weekend. (the pop shop and norma's) so i can't nail down what upset my tummy. it was pretty mild though. not as bad as if i had straight up non-vegan stuff, so that's a positive.

OH!!! they had a vegan peanut butter pie for dessert. it was tasty!
