I love Horizons! It's probably on my top 7 favorite restaurants. Probably.

It has a pretty cool attached natural food store too, if I remember correctly. Nature's Harvest or something.

Just got back, we had the restaurant-week-esque special. It was yummm. Parsnip-chestnut bisque, warm winter veg salad, pan-seared tofu w/ mushrooms, sticky toffee cake thing with ice cream. The salad was so-so but I loved everything else. Go! They're doing it nezt week too.
And yeah, there's no store attached.

Is there more than one Horizons that I do not know about? I know they used to have a previous location in the burbs, but they moved their restaurant to downtown Philly years ago....

My husband started going to Horizons when it was no more than a lunch counter at Nature's Harvest natural food store in Willow Grove. They later moved to a larger location next door, and then to a different location in the same strip mall. We used to be able to get a fabulous meal there and only spend $35 plus tip for the two of us. It was a BYOB back then.
We were extremely disappointed when they decided to pull up stakes and go to Philly. We have been there, and the food is just as amazing, but the atmosphere is no longer the same, and the prices are now in the stratosphere. I've talked to other local fans, and there is a general feeling of abandonment of his original fans that prevails among them. It's kind of sad.
I'd still like to go there once in awhile for the incredible food, but my husband just doesn't feel the same about them.
BTW, they used to have a seitan cheesesteak sandwich that leaves Govindas' in the dust.

CarrotTops, I'm sad their move disappointed you (and many original supporters, it sounds like)! I would like to have gone there back in the day.

Just heard from a secret source that Horizon's is thinking about expanding to a possible West Philly location. Thats pretty exciting, I'm interested to hear about their plans.
