whereabouts is simple? is it that place on tib street (next to north tea power)? it sounds worth checking out, so i'll add it to "the list"!

last week i finally had a veggie burrito from pancho's in the arndale food court. and it was very good too. extra jalapenos, refried beans and habanero sauce meant it was pretty savage, but nowt i can't handle! it was massive too, and the veggies in it tasted really really fresh. lots better value than barburrito, i thought (and i like barburrito anyway).

Yeah that's the place. They have a few vegan option. I love Pancho's too. I like that they have a vegan option and they know what it means. Rather than having to say (like in barburrito) oh no, don't put cheese on, yeah, no sour cream either.

I'm currently having a row with Chaophraya. I've been there before but this time I noticed a thing on their menu saying "Our food is not suitable for vegans". I was with family so I didn't push it, and ordered dishes that they've told me before are vegan. I sent them a message asking why, and they said it was because they have alot of meat in their kitchen. So I asked how then dishes can be suitable for vegetarians, they have asked me to direct message them as its complicated, but they aren't following me so I can't yet.

That's really bad, I've never been but I really wanted to go to try it, I might not bother now though.

i'm interested to see what they have to say about it though, despite the fact it sounds ridiculous (and tbh, the last time we went (last year some time) it was pretty disappointing anyway).

Yeah, I've only been at lunchtime before and it was quite good but this time I thought it was OK, nothing wrong with it but not as good as previously. I was with family and I gave them a list of places to choose from where I could eat, and they picked there.

Just to warn anyone that is going to Australisia bar at Spinningfields - there is a Thai tofu curry, which is listed on the menu as being suitable for vegetarians, however I emailed them to ask if it was vegan and they replied to say it wasn't, because it had fish sauce in it. Just wanted to make people aware because it clearly isn't vegetarian either in that case.

There's a new store called V Revolution opening on Oldham Street soon which advertises itself as a vegan lifestyle shop. Am looking forward to checking this out. Here's a link: http://www.facebook.com/vrevolutionuk?sk=info

Obviously I'm looking forward to it opening. It's a record shop too, specialising in punk rock/hc stuff.
We'll see!

the provisional opening date is 19/12/11, but that's dependant on a couple of things.

Yeah, I saw that after looking on the fb page. I walk passed it every day anyway on my way to and from work, so I'll keep an eye out. I hope that they're open past 5pm though, because I don't finish work until just after 5, so it'd be nice to be able to pop in on my way home.

I'm not sure if it's going to be open by Christmas now, there were no signs of life when I walked passed on my way home earlier.

apparently it'll still be a couple of weeks but he has an online store up and running, however the shop seems like it's probably gonna be more focused on the music side of things with vegan snacks and whatnot on the side...

Yeah I guessed that might be the case, I was hoping for somewhere like Vx really. I know we have Eighth Day, but that's the other side of town to me, so it's a bit out of the way. Ah well. I'm off to pick up some groceries/ lots of veg for Christmas Day from Unicorn later today. I hope that they have plenty of stock in.

Laughing Buddha is wonderrrful and, delightfully, only a 15 min walk from my home :D The salt & pepper tofu makes me feel a bit funny in funny places......

The thirsty scholar on oxford road just by the station normally does vegan pub food but its being done up at the mo. Apparently the chef is currently doing food at the seven oaks pub near chinatown mon-fri 12-6. I have yet to try it but am planning on it!

Just in case folks don't know, he is now in The Lass O'Gowrie and does a vegan menu every Monday:

I've heard it's excellent!

V Revolution finally opened today, apparently.
I've not been in yet so cannot vouch for the selection of vegan goodies available or anything though.

The pictures on their FB page show it looking a wee bit sparse, but it was opening day :) I'm going to pop in this w/e and hope they have some nice goodies in!

I went in today, they have very minimal stock. They have a good range of Fry's and they have Sheese too but very little in the way of sweets and chocolate etc.

They also don't take cards yet, but are planning on doing. Hopefully they'll increase their stock range soon.
