I spied a packet of this today, 'suitable for vegans' on the front of the packet and claiming to be new. It's a brown colour so looks as though it's been dyed, anyone tried it? I can't imagine it's much different from TVP in taste (none) and texture but could be wrong

I got some reduced last week but put it in my freezer. I gave another packet to a friend & he said he made a keema curry which was lovely apparently. I think it is marinated, hence the "dyed" look.

It's very different in both taste and texture, it's more creamy than tvp and lovely! It goes great in burritos and a bunch of other dishes where you want something smoother than tvp.
It' buy it more often if it wasn't cheaper to get regular tofu from an asian shop nearby and turn it into mince and flavor it myself.

This is interesting, I will have to keep an eye out for it.
