I get the Vegan Society multivitamin off and on, which contains the recommended daily dose of iodine, but I don't like permanently relying on one type of supplement (I mix up getting b12 from the same multivit, or yeast extract, or fortified nooch, cereal, soya milk etc.).

Kelp seems to be the best natural source, but possibly a bit variable in the amount different batches may contain? I'm thinking of getting the Holland and Barrett kelp tablets which have been standardised to contain the RDA, but just wanted to get an idea of what other people do.

I wish our salt was iodised! It's really pissed me off seeing how our food agencies responsible for fortifying foods have left vegans and milk intolerant people out to dry by deciding to just assume everyone will get enough iodine through dairy.

You can get iodised salt in Sainsbuys. It is called Cerebos. Comes in a 400g tub which is yellow & red with white & gold writing. I also used to be able to buy the same brand from Morrisons & my local health food shop.

Marks & Spencer Soya Milk has iodine in, I drink that by the gallon.
I also take one of these when I remember: http://www.lifeplan.co.uk/products/Mult ... ?prodID=26

I use the H&B Sea Kelp (um, and I always make a really lame joke about it whenever I take it) and I think it works pretty well. There is a lot of variation in the iodine in seaweed/kelp, so I sometimes skip a day so I don't get an accidental overdose ;)

Plus they're tiny, so you don't have to choke them down (lookin' at you, generic multivitamins the size of a bullet).
