Saw this for the first time in Harvest yesterday. It's a no-soya, no-dairy shelf-stable desert in a pot that looks like a yoghurt pot. They had black cherry, raspberry, some other fruity thing (strawberry maybe?), and "natural" - whatever the hell that would be. It says "with pea protein" in a big splash across the front, and only cost 60p. I had the raspberry one.

Not only was it grey, it had a weird chalky taste, and a really gross viscous snot-like consistency. Yuck. Disgusting. 60p too much. Anyone else tried it?

Nope, and I most definitely wont be trying it now!

I had a cherry one of those once, and it was really nice! And definitely not grey, more pinkish. I liked it a lot. It sounds like you had a dodgy one to be honest.

I wish we had anything in the states made using pea protein.

i tried it at the London vegan fayre in August and wasn't impressed. other people really seemed to like it though, so maybe it's my American tastebuds that are dulled from overstimulation.

Appealing as it sounds from your description, I don't think I'll bother trying it.

I thought they were yoghurts when I saw them in H&B.

Yeah, can't remember which one, it was a weird colour (maybe a peach one) I thought they were horrid! I will never ever eat one again.

They have them at Real Foods, and like baps, I thought they were yogurts. They didn't really appeal before your description.

I tried these to make my overnight oats with, because my local Holland and Barrett had run out of the usual soygurt that I use. They were vile. I threw all the extra ones that I bought out because they tasted so bad.

The Redwoods bloke bullied me into trying it again at the vegan fair today, saying they'd changed the recipe. Still like snot, just slightly less grey.
