I just started a new job and my work team want to have a Christmas lunch so I will have to bring up that I'm vegan. We are based in South Kensington so is there anywhere around there that would do any vegan food or should I just say nowhere is likely to cater to my requirements? What are everyone else's experiences of having to go to work meals?

I find chains are good for work meals, Pho, Pizza Express and Las Iguanas have good options. You should definitely scope out Happy Cow for your area too. The app searches places using your location so that'll help you see if there are any vegan friendly places nearby.

Second jojo's suggestion of chains, Nandos even do some vegan bits & pieces (they have an ingredients book they can give you from behind the counter). You can also phone the venue and ask to speak to the chef about it, I always offer to bring any things that might help the chef out, soy cream, tofu etc, this usually gets them on side and I've ended up with some great meals out in non-vegan venues.

(Disclaimer: my only knowledge here is that my dad works in South Kensington and I sometimes see him for lunch)

South Kensington itself seems to be a bit of a vegan wasteland. The only thing I've found that's convenient and vegan friendly-ish is Pret. That said, possibly phone around at some of the chains?
