We're spending a day and a night in Liverpool in the new year
Where shall we eat? Anything we should go visit in particular?

The Egg Cafe is rather lovely. It's up rather a lot of stairs, which may be difficult for some, but the food is mostly vegan when you get there.

Another vote for the Egg Cafe. I still have fond memories of my first ever vegan cooked breakfast which I had there about 10 years ago.

(ETA: admittedly I've not actually been back there in years though either ...)

Egg Cafe is great but is very traditional 1970s type veggie/vegan fare. Mowgli on Bold St is great Indian Street food and has a separate vegan menu. Bakchich also on Bold St is Lebanese and very tasty and there's also another Lebanese place on Bold St which is vegan friendly but the name escapes me.

Lucha Libre is very good and the staff are very knowledgable so can give you advice about what can be made vegan etc.

Hope you have a great time!

Also if Bold St Coffee is open when you're around, I'd recommend the getting a coffee and they usually have something vegan like avocado on toast. I've also had plenty of great sandwiches there. Mattas is worth a visit too. It's a shop but great for picking up all sorts of interesting food bits.

I totally agree with Wowetflutter's wise words, and would also add in Lunya which has a separate vegan menu and is really nice. There are a few vegan restaurants opening soon http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/whats-on ... t-10514843 but probably not in your timescale.
