I don't know if they're called 'fire gloves' but I'm looking for vegan gloves to tend the fire with. As this sometimes involves picking up hot embers they need to have fingers so that rules out oven type mits, but all the suitable gloves seem to have leather on at least part of them - anyone have any ideas?

<BTW> for washing up and dealing with food I bought a pair of gloves like these http://tinyurl.com/7lc785o They've lasted 18 months so far and no leaks unlike Marigolds or the like. The fingers aren't as flexible but they don't seem to puncture so I'm willing to live with that

Brilliant, thanks for for the find, and by the looks of it I'll be able to juggle my balls with them as well :)

Hahahha.

Actually, I've never even thought about fire gloves. Mine came with the fire and I've never thought about it but I bet they're leather. Ug.
