I pretty much hate all non-dairy milk so I don't eat cereal or anything anymore. I buy the light alpro for coffee but I normally throw most of it out because it makes coffee and tea taste weird, unless they are really sweetened lattes or something.

My dad bought me the unsweetened but not light fresh one. It's horrible, I can't get used to it. I can stomach the light UHT one, even though it's sweetened, but this one is not good. I'll try it again later, maybe it was just because I had boring cereal this morning.

I just opened a container of Alpro unsweetened...and it smells like feet. Doesn't taste like anything so I can't tell what's up, but it really smells like dirty feet.

The fresh one? yeah it's properly gross! I had some last night and even with milkshake syrup in it didn't disguise the beany gross taste. I love the light unsweetened one but the non light version YUK!

Oh no I guess I didn't get the light one. I can't believe something that smells like that is actually edible!

I just tried Tesco Organic soya (I think it's unsweetened, but I'm too lazy to get up just now and check) and it's gross. Not overly soybeany but sort of watery? I don't know. I need to try Alpro unsweetened light.... unless it smells like feet.

It doesn't smell like feet I promise. I don't think the full fat one smells bad either, it just tastes proper gippin'.
Tesco used to do a fresh healthy living one that was cheaper than alpro but tasted just like it. Sainsbury's unsweetened fresh one used to be ok too but I haven't bought it for a while.

I think the Alpro UHT original is my favourite. I started out buying Tesco own brand until I realised that every carton had a faulty spout and it splashed soy milk all over the kitchen when I shook it. I guess I've gotten used to the taste because I'll drink it straight up (cold, of course - it tastes beany when lukewarm or warmer). We go through 3-5 cartons a week, depending on the amount of cereal and tea we have (and if I'm drinking it straight).
I used to like Oatly, but the last time I had it, I was disappointed. I also can't drink any of the currently available non-dairy chocolate milks straight. I'll buy the fresh Alpro, but I have to cut it with the plain stuff. Otherwise it tastes too much of cocoa powder.
I like Alpro vanilla for tea, but I can pretty much only get it in one shop now (Sainsbury's at Cameron Toll), so I'll use the blue box if I can't get out there. I go back and forth on Ecomil almond milk - I kinda like the taste, but it's insanely expensive and was kinda gritty the last time I bought it. I also keep a carton of the unsweetened Alpro UHT for savoury stuff (like sauces), but I've had the same container (unopened) in my fridge since before we moved.
I really wanna try the new varieties of Alpro (or is it Provamel?), but my hfs doesn't have them! :(

I just tried the Alpro almond milk. It's OK, but it has a strong salted nut smell. I still prefer soy for straight drinking, so I'll probably use the rest of the almond on my cereal and go back to soy when I run out. But it would be my preference if I had to make something for someone who was sensitive to soy.
Oh, but when I was in Glasgow yesterday, I saw Almond Dream (next to the Rice Dream, so presumably the same makers), which I think is new. It was only £1.79. I didn't buy any, but I should've. It was at the local hfs rather than H&B, so I don't know how wide-spread it is (since I'm sure I didn't see it at my local hfs).

I have tried oat and rice milk and was not keen at all!
I think coconut milk is my favourite, although I am happy to have unsweetened soya milk.
Has anyone tried the Kallo Organic soy?

Tried the Alpro hazelnut drink today, very good but a bit watery. Made a hell of a hot chocolate though!

I've only seen the new Alpr milks in the long-life aisle, so I suspect that they might be selling chilled UHT...

kookies_n_creem I've tried the Kallo milk and think it's pretty good. Haven't had the chocolate version yet.

Oohhhh lots of Alpro fans here! I tend to buy the Provamel organic unsweetened one as its usually on offer at €1.29 and I get a 15% discount off that at the co-op I volunteer for. I have had the Lidl one too but dont like that as much as the Provamel one. My partner has a thing for Rice Dream vanilla on his breakfast but its too sweet for me.
