Hello Londoners!

I'll be in your fair city over Christmas.. and my traveling companion and I have been trying to find a veg friendly place that would be open for a meal on Christmas Day. Anyone have any ideas? In years past, we've been in walking distance to a great Armenian restaurant, but this year we'll be much farther from them (boo!), and my traveling companion thought maybe we could go a more "traditional" Brit route with a meal for fun. Though we're open to anything!

From my looking around online, I see places that are most definitely not veg friendly, and very pricey (but that's to be expected on xmas). We'll be centrally located, near Bond Street tube (for reference, I know the tube won't be running xmas day. or am I wrong about that?)

Just wondered if perhaps any local people had any more ideas..? I'd be thrilled if Manna or Mildreds were open XMAS day, but I'm preeetttty sure they are not.

Thank you!

I think it may be tricky for you to get to from where you'll be staying but the Riverside Vegetaria in Kingston is usually open on Xmas day. I haven't checked whether they are this year though. They do a nut roast as well as their more usual menu. You'd have to book it though, I think they usually do two lunch sittings.

It'll be tough to get to Kingston from Central London without public transport. If it were me, I'd check whether the Diwana Bhel Poori house in Drummond Street is going to be open on Christmas Day - that's walkable from Bond Street.

Thanks for the suggestions! Yes, I think it'll be tricky doing anything besides walking on Christmas Day.. I will look into the Diwana Bhel Poori house, thanks!

If I come across anything else, I'll post here, too. But so far...
