I discovered this in Sainsbury's today. I really like almond milk but have mostly avoided buying it due to its prohibitive expense... until now!

It's really nice, especially in drinking chocolate. I think Tesco had both the almond & hazel nut for £1.37.

The new hazelnut one is gorgeous in coffee and inherently drinkable on its own!

Quoted for truth. The almond one is good, but the hazelnut one is good. I'm going to melt some chocolate into a glass this evening.

oops posted in wrong thread. got the hazelnut one and was iffy about it but then chilled it (sorry! was hungry and didn't have anything, had to use it immediately!) and it's really good on its own chilled and also in tea/coffee. Not bad in cereal either. I want to find the almond one!

Whilst my local Tesco is stocking nothing of the new free from range, they do have both the Almond and Hazelnut Alpro's. I bought the Almond one and really like it in tea and porridge, I'm very intruiged to try the Hazelnut one, especially in drinking chocolate.

Horrible rip-off Holland and Barrett are selling it for £3+! I don't have anywhere else in the town centre to buy it. Trip to Booths next time I go visit my sister, I think. Hazelnut milk sounds like a must-have.

The almond milk is fairly drinkable, but I find the hazelnut a bit... off. I will try it in coffee, though.

Actually, I think I don't like whatever stabilizer (or something) that Alpro use. It has a waxy taste.

The hazelnut milk contains more sugar than hazelnuts. No wonder I thought it tasted odd... I'm not a sweets person.

I had the new almond milk on my cereal this morning, it's not bad at all! I prefer unsweetened milks generally but this is definitely drinkable.

I liked the hazelnut milk on my bran flakes. It's not bad quaffed from the carton either.

Sat here with a glass of the hazelnut milk as we speak, it goes nicely with my nakd bar.
I prefer the long life one to the fresh, its a tad creamier.
The tesco I was at today was selling the new milks for £1.

I know Alpro make the tesco ones but has anyone tried them side by side for a taste test? I wasn't keen on the Tesco hazelnut one but I wonder if they're exactly the same?

I didn't exactly try them side by side, but I tried the Alpro almond milk about a week before the Tesco and they were virtually identical from what I recall. I had hoped that they'd be different (because of that weird saltiness from the roasting), but no dice.

Ugh I really hope they bring this to the Netherlands! I've only ever seen the soya milk here. I used to be an almond milk person in the states and only used soymilk for cooking/baking, but now I use it in coffee and on cereal every day. The almond milk they sell in the HFS here is ridiculously priced.

Oh I liked the savouriness. The (Alpro) hazelnut milk was too sugery for my liking. The sort of saltiness balances the sweetness in the almond milk...

But tastes differ and I'm aware that I don't have a sweet tooth

When I went into Sainsburys (Balham) this morning there were a lot of Alpro Almond and Hazelnut milk on the shelf, cost £1.00. I had to go back in later in the afternoon to pick something else up and they were all gone! This kind of makes me happy to know so many people are buying that milk. If they sell out they make more, it becomes more popular and can give icky cows milk a run for it's money.
