Was that recently? Because I've been drinking the UHT stuff for months if not years without a hint of coconut before.

Aaah, yes! I was using the large cartons of UHT and they were fine, but the last couple I've bought have tasted like sweetened coconut juice. I'm convinced that it's thinner than before - it was quite milky.

The vegg. It's a godsend. Also Clif peanut builders bars, 20g of protein and just generally tasty. Might order a box off amazon.

I got a lovely reply from Kara: (I think they're sending the case because I told them I bought a case)
Thank you for your email and please accept my apologies for the quality of the Kara Dairy Free milk that you have recently bought. We have recently had a temporary change in our production line whilst our normal production line has undergone routine long term maintenance. Although the recipe and production settings were unchanged we are now aware that the temporary production line had created a product with a slightly stronger taste of coconut than normal. We felt that this variation would be acceptable to our customers, but we accept that some will have a more sensitive palate than others and the difference might not be acceptable to everyone. Please be assured that we value you as a customer and we are extremely sorry that you have experienced a product that does not match your expectations. If you will provide us with your address we would like to offer you a case of 12 packs of Kara Dairy free in compensation for the inconvenience you have experienced. This will be stock from a production run that is not coconutty and has been produced on our normal line! We can assure you that production of Kara Dairy Free Original with the normal taste resumes with best before dates of September 2013. You will also find that Kara Dairy Free Original is also available in a Chilled pack format from the fresh milk aisle of Tesco. This product has the same flavour as our normal Original in long-life format and bas been unaffected by the maintenance work as it is made on an independent production line. If you have any questions on the above, please let me know and I look forward to receiving your address.

Tastes just like egg yolk to me. Which has been a sorely missed flavour. I've been just mixing it in with mushed up cauldron tofu with a bit of ACV, salt and pepper and pure butter, then nuked it. Tastes like a mashed up boiled egg to me! I've not tried making anything with it like souffle or omelette or anything fancy though.

I've only seen one flavour of Clif bar here and at two quid it's something I can live without. They are delicious, though. I've been tempted, but the price is just too high. I've never been an egg yolk fan... I always thought it tasted a bit like phlegm.

If anyone wants to order Clif bars from Iherb they work out at about £1.19 each & you'll get £5 or £10 off your first order with my code: JOJ321. The shipping costs to the UK are super reasonable if your order weighs under a certain weight (3 or 4kg I think), if you spend loads on vitamins/suppliments the customs charge can be really high though.

Yeah they aren't cheap, I got the one flavour of veganstore.co.uk. I only got three! Egg yolk phlegm? really?! You must have some flavorsome secretions.
Thanks jojo! I've browsed on iherb before and they've got loads of goodies but I've never tallied up the costs or shipping :)

Thanks jojo! I've browsed on iherb before and they've got loads of goodies but I've never tallied up the costs or shipping :) The shipping was really surprisingly cheap but I got hit with a twelve quid customs/duty and fees charge, which rendered any savings or cheapness moot. I don't regret buying anything because of it, but it's something you should check up on before you order. I think anything under £15 equivalent in goods doesn't have a customs tax on it. It just didn't occur to me when I was ordering!

Redwoods Christmas products are up on their website now. Including the salmon slices.

I really like those salmon slices. I had them in a sandwich with Tofutti cream cheese, dill and cucumber and it was delish. The pasties are good but need more filling. The sausage rolls are ok and the chicken tikka is decent for a quick meal.

I'm looking forward to having them again and trying the new stuff out! Unfortunately though being so far west in a little seaside town it would seem new stuff arrives in H&B much later than it would have in Portsmouth. So may have to hold out a while longer :(

I just had the gammon roast. It's very salty, which I love.mits a long time since I had either the beef or turkey one but I didn't love either of them, this one was much more my thing. I had it with creamed leeks and it really took me back to my childhood.

Sent ASDA an email asking about adding egg to the light salad cream.
"I have spoken with our Trading Assistant who has advised the supplier has changed which is why the ingredients have changed. They are currently working with the supplier to remove the egg content however at present we don't have a definite date of when this will be. I would suggest keeping an eye on the ingredients as the labelling will change accordingly."
Maybe we'll get our salad cream back. Maybe.

Didn't know where else to put this but do you guys know about www.veganoo.net? I don't always agree with their reviews, as I'm sure people don't mine, but it's a nice site and I like their taste tests.

Unfortunately for my wallet I like a lot of stuff that's available online only. Things like Primal Spirit Foods jerky, Twilight bars, Luna bars, Clif bars, vegan chorizo, and moo free milk chocolate. I wish there was a shop near me that sold any of them.
