Oh yeah the alpro ice cream... i tried the choc hazelnut one that everyone is raving about on FB. Disappointed! It was ok but nothing special.

Yeah, it was ok, couldn't taste the hazelnut and lordy it was hard to scoop from the freezer. I think the vanilla is better.

Mat.

Caramel Pecan Praline! Haagen Dazs Pralines and Cream was my favourite ice cream ever. If this is anything like it, I am done.

I probably wouldn't rush to buy it again which is a shame.

I liked the flavour but the texture of the g/f pasta was as you describe. I microwaved mine, I don't know if it would be better in the oven. It's a shame as I was really looking forward to it. And if people only buy it once they'll think vegan options don't sell.

I think this calls for a small bowl of each flavour!

I saw on Instgram that Quorn are bringing out vegan nuggets and I am much more excited that I should be! I hope I find them soon (or ever)! I am also keeping an eye out for the Alpro ice cream and Suma baked beans and sausages :)

Oooh, nuggets sound good. I am secretly hoping for vegan Quorn sausages, because nostalgia. I bought a 12-pack of the Suma baked beans and sausages, have had it pretty much every day for lunch for the past week or so. They're good!

I tried it for the first time tonight. It was pleasant enough, but I agree about the pasta texture being wrong. Thing is, the béchamel sauce wasn't half bad. I'd buy a jar of that. If they weren't so sparse on the veggies and used a better pasta, this could be a good thing. Not sure where they get off charging £3 for a ready-meal, as a supermarket. Would rather spend that on an Amy's ready-meal.

Re. Suma beans with sausages I'm thinking the sausages need more and slightly different seasoning and the beans part needs more beans and/or thicker sauce. It's a good idea but I won't be buying them again at £1.50 a pop unless they improve the recipe.

I can't even bring myself to contemplate wading through the ridiculousness of groups on FB. I end up getting mildly irate at least 85% of the time, ha.

Apparently Marks and Spencer have a pricey box of chocolates that are vegan and very pretty. In the free-from section. Also, some of those wobbly Hallowe'en sweets that come in a plastic mold.....those are apparently also vegan.

Me too, I didn't even pick them up as I assumed they'd have gelatine, but someone on IG posted they were sfv, weeee!

I went to the big Sainsburys and couldn't find the lasagne in the vegetarian ready meals section or the italian ready meals section, but when I walked out of the aisle I saw they had a whole end-cap of the Free From refridgerated stuff. I got a couple of the lasagnes and am glad to have tried them, but they were incredibly watery and as KatieCarr said, the two sauces mixed together. I love white sauce (though I prefer it super-thick) and I usually like the combination of white sauce next to bolognese or whatever in a lasagne, but I don't really like creamy tomato sauces which is what this turned into. And yeah, the texture of the pasta was weird, but I could put up with that if the rest was better. I should email Sainsburys I suppose, and get less lazy and cook some myself the way I like it.

Same in my branch. When I was looking for the new cheeses I even asked someone from the cheese counter who hadn't heard of them (her grand daughter was dairy intolerant so I thought she'd be all over it - and it turned out to be on the end of an aisle right opposite her cheese counter but she hadn't noticed it!)
