I tried the double choc buns today. They're good! And I like that they don't have fruit in, which is what kept me from eating regular hot cross buns.

I've just had one for breakfast- I really liked it, much better than the golden syrup ones. I might stock the freezer up.

Ohhh, these look amazing! Violet creams! I see from their website that Holland & Barrett is a retail partner, but has anyone seen Beech's around elsewhere? At a regular supermarket maybe?

I've not seen them at a supermarket, but there's an independent sweetshop that sells them here, and Fenwicks department store have them, so they're certainly not exclusive to H&B.

Dropscone is very right, not exclusive to H&B. I have seen them in market stalls (in a chocolate shop in an indoors market). Also I think I have seen them in shops like Supernews/Home Bargains but I always buy them from their online shop. Veganwomble has also spotted them in foodhalls, garden centres & Booths supermarkets: http://theveganwomble.blogspot.co.uk/20 ... -more.html

Also I believe that Vegan Tuck Box are working with them so they may be selling them through their online shop or putting them in Tuck Boxes

Speaking of new products Aldi have their Easter range in. They have the usual (Marzipan egg, half marzipan egg, chocolate bunny) and they also have dark chocolate mini eggs which appear vegan!

I went to Vrevolution in Manchester and got some of the Rebel Kitchen chocolate mylks (among other delights). The chocolate mylks are the best I have ever tasted.

Okay, so Tesco have a new range within their frozen vegetarian section and the Caribbean sweet potato roasts are vegan! Only 2 in a pack but they're only 75p and very tasty.

The burger mix is really good. I use it in bolognaise when I don't have soya mince. They are also really good if you encase some soya cheese in them before cooking.

My bestest ever thing is to mix some of that fake cheese sauce powder in with the burger mix and make little meatballs. The fake cheese sauce powder, which is slightly abhorrent on its own, adds like a thousand layers of loveliness.

I just found McVitie's Fruit Rolls today. They're like fig bars but with other filling. I don't know if they have anything other than apple right now, but we liked them. They were a little crispier than I was expecting, but otherwise they were alright.

Yeah! What's weird is they had 4 flavors in the fancy big branch, then in the little one nearer my work they had at least ten! I got raspberry crush and spiced apple.

I was in Tesco this evening and there were fancy tubes of umami paste with the tubes of puree (tomato, garlic etc.) heavily reduced, as my boyfriend pointed out. The times I've seen them before they had anchovy in, but these ones were marked vegetarian and seem to be vegan (not sure how or if mirin is fined, think that was the only iffy thing).

I was really excited to find CR lip balms in holland and barret. I managed to only buy 2; I thought that was pretty restrained!

I came across Maryland Snapjacks at Asda yesterday. They say new on the package, but they were only 25p. All the ingredients appear to be vegan. They're honeycomb flavoured, so ... interesting, but in a good way (I think).

There's no Lidl near me, so for all I know these have been around for years, but until Thursday it's Italian Week at Lidl and as part of that they have snack puffy cracker things called Cuscinetti Croccanti Sardi in several flavours. So far I've tried the rosemary and chilli flavours. They are very scoffable, mostly because they are so brilliantly crunchy. £1.49 for 200g. They'd be a great party nibble.

A friend pointed me in the direction of Lakeland for agar agar powder! I've been scouring Chinese supermarkets for years trying to find some and it was never powder, and I don't like ordering stuff like this online because of postage costs which you either have to suck up or buy a lot to make worthwhile, and then having to trek to the post office to collect parcels, so I am chuffed about this!

http://www.lakeland.co.uk/18352/Agar-Agar

Incidentally, nice to see Lakeland labelling stuff as vegan!

I bought two as well! I got the gingerbread one and the apple spice. The apple spice one smells absolutely amazing.

I prefer Hurraw! lip balms (found some flavours of CR were very grainy) and I've noticed these appearing in health food shops recently (e.g. Planet Organic, As Nature Intended and some smaller independents).

Hurraw are amazing! I have the chai spiced one and it's beautiful.

I have the orange clove crazy rumours one which is also lovely. My stupid H&B doesn't sell any of the crazy rumours yet, but I'm pretty sure you can get them for buy one get one half price with free delivery on the website at the moment. The amaretto one WILL be mine!
