Not actually a new product, but I've seen peanut butter oreos in Tesco (specifically, the Tesco on Market Street in Manchester city centre).

I don't really like oreos so they aren't a purchase I'd make anyway, but they are £6.00 (SIX! POUNDS!). That's a crazy amount to charge for a packet of biscuits, right?

In other Manchester oreo news, WH Lung on Upper Brook Street has some weird fruity flavours. Mixed berry and a citrus one, I think.

What?! How did I miss this? Have you tried them, are they any good?

Hopefully this will cure my yearning for the accidentally vegan maple bacon popcorn Marks & Spencer did at Christmas.

Sorry for the late response, no I havn't tried them, and I've not seen them since? Maybe it was exclusive to only a few stores.
Or maybe I need to keep a better eye out!

Ha, I actually just tried those tonight! The maple flavour is really subtle. You can smell it (cooking) more than you can taste it. I liked them. They aren't really bacony (neither are the original flavour ones), but the flavour is closer maybe. I'm not sure - I haven't eaten bacon in at least 10 years.

I just found Clearspring White Miso and Silken Tofu in Marks and Spencer. Not exactly a new product but great that is available locally now. They also have some new focaccia - a three pack mixed selection.

I found a bag of Sweet Garden brand soy milk powder when I was in one of the Asian minimarkets looking for something else. It says vegan on the front. So pleased to find one without dairy ingredients inexplicably present as well. It was £4.99 for 500g, and I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but it doesn't expire until the end of next year and I'm sure at least a couple of my books have recipes calling for the stuff.

Yeah, it's definitely an ingredient in one of the frosting recipes in VCTOTW. You can also use it to make instant hot chocolate mix!

You could make instant vegan porridge packs (like those "Just add water" ones in the supermarket) with it for taking to work etc

According to my friend, you get the equivalent of three regular sized packets, so it's not THAT bad, if you think about it.... but still more than I'm willing to shell out on biscuits. I love the pb/chocolate combo, though, so it is tempting.

there was a 40% off voucher for pizza express in our newspaper monday so we thought we'd swing by. they have updated their vegan page…

http://www.pizzaexpress.com/customerservice/answer/89/

…and, as you can see, are advertising a vegan/dairy-free pizza called the pianta. no fake cheese, but it was good nonetheless. i'm not sure i woulda got it without the 40% off, but, y'know… o: one thing. it's garlicky!

That's such good news that they're now advertising a vegan pizza! I haven't been to a Pizza Express for years but things like this are always worth knowing.

And it is now official that you can bring your own vegan cheese - great to feel like they aren't doing you a favour anymore!

I also got them to make the polenta chips without the cheese, and with balsamic instead of the honey dressing :) They were really accommodating to be fair.

Tesco has some sort of special Free From aisle at the moment with a "vegan friendly" section. Its got things like hummus crisps etc in it and chia seeds and things like that. Huge section down the "seasonal" aisle.

Rosie those look awesome. I didn't see the earth balance stuff but then I didn't look too hard as I didn't have the money to buy anything!

The earth balance pb things are AMAZING! They had some other earth balance snack thing there and loads of different crisps including 'cheesey' and 'sour cream' type things.....I'm going back for another haul later, heh.

That was my first thought!! If we have the pops does that mean the puffs, popcorn and cheese crackers are heading our way too?! That would be SO rad!

I've heard that Coyo (not new as such) are launching in over 400 Tesco stores on Monday, very exciting!

I was annoyed about having to go out to the pet store on the other side of town, but now that I've seen this, I don't mind so much since maybe the giant Tesco next to it might have Earth Balance stuff!

I just had to google both of those but now I am drooling. It's so cool you can get stuff like this in supermarkets now :)

I went to Tesco earlier and they didn't have any of that new stuff. Sadface. I want fancy vegan snacks!

You'll want to look for the aisle that usually has seasonal stuff (which your shop may or may not have). The giant Tesco that I went to had an entire aisle labeled "Lifestyle Fair" or some such. Most of it was GF, but there was a good bit of vegan stuff too. They had 3 kinds of Earth Balance popcorn (buttery, PB, and cheddar, but of course the cheddar was sold out when I got there). They had some Enjoy Life stuff - rice milk chocolate bars (though quite small for the price), soft baked and crispy cookies and probably a few other things. They had 2 full bits of Udi's stuff (maybe even 3), including 4 varieties of breakfast bar (the usual blueberry and strawberry as well as apple and cherry). The Udi's lemon wafers also appeared to be vegan. And they had a bunch of other stuff that didn't appeal to me so I don't know whether or not it was vegan.

The Enjoy Life soft baked chocolate chip cookies were delicious, but really really tiny (about the size of the circle you could make with your thumb and forefinger). They come in a box of 16 for, I think, £3. Mike and I polished off the whole box in about 5 minutes.

Ah, maybe I did overlook it then! I assumed it would be next to the normal "Free From" bit. It's a pretty big store and there is definitely a "Seasonal" aisle, but I don't think it occurred to me to look there. D'oh! I have to go into town tomorrow, I will stop by and have another look.
