Wot! Not you & Rachel, if that's what you're thinking!
It was another thing a couple of nice folk but mostly crazies including a woman who berated someone for wearing faux leather boots as it was "condoning leather as a fashion statement". Or something. Anyway, I did learn at this event that Chili Heatwave Doritos were vegan so I definitely came away with something.

I will definitely be checking some of these places out, a friend of mine is often talking about the Thirsty Scholar, so that is high on my list!

Have you tried Iceland? Oh, I didn't see this before! Thank you! The Tesco near me started to supply it then stopped. I'm suspicious because it was always 1/2 or completely sold out so it was popular enough. I wonder if pure complains about poor sales anywhere vitalite is stocked. There are 3 different flavours of pure but they can't stock vitalite, strange. I'll try iceland the next time I'm passing, I can get it in MACRO wholesalers but have to wipe the tubs down as they are covered in a film of dust! Sainsbury's, dude.

I will definitely be checking some of these places out, a friend of mine is often talking about the Thirsty Scholar, so that is high on my list! no problem! i work out near the airport too (until this friday, anyway!) and i can safely say that there's basically nowhere round here that would cater for you beyond, say, some chips in a pub or something! however, once you head into manchester from there it's a slightly different matter; down the M56 you get to chorlton first which is a hippy paradise (i.e. it's very good for vegans (and i live there too!)) and has this place there: http://www.unicorn-grocery.co.uk/, which is a vegan food co-op/grocery shop and is brilliant! there's also a bar called oddest that does 3 or 4 vegan options (and is part of a mini-chain, the first of which is Odd Bar and is in the city centre so there's another option there for you!), and another pub called the horse and jockey that does a vegan sunday roast dinner.

I just encountered the disappointment of all the lovely vegan restaurants in the London thread turning out to be London, Ontario and not Proper London.
