My boyfriend wants to go to Ireland in the fall. I'm not sure if we can afford it but I want to crash this party. If he gets a couple of new projects this summer we might be able to swing it!

I am skipping my cousin's wedding in London (the day before the Olympics...what the fizzle?! Who can afford flights to your dumb wedding then?) so when we do come over we are going to go all over the UK and Ireland, with requisite family visits. And hopefully PPKer visits!

i hope you're right! the only gov't-issued ID i have right now is my license from the US.

I (personally) wouldn't dare fly without my passport/ID for foreign nationals. You never know when they'll check that stuff.

exactly! i don't mind ground/sea transport, but i worry that (especially because i'm a foreigner) they'll want to see a passport or other specific form of ID for travel anywhere outside mainland Britain. hopefully they'll locate my documents soon so i don't have to keep worrying about this. not to mention get a job, visit my family, and so forth.

Oh, I will!

Last time I was in the UK they scoffed at my British passport (it's legit!) and wanted my Canadian one (which, fortunately, I had.) it's always so random! I think they would laugh at me if I tried to get on a Canadian driver's license. But I am notorious for having bad border crossing experiences.
