BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT VACANCY
Due to expansion we have a vacancy in our Business Development department at The Vegan Society in Birmingham, UK.
Applications are invited for the position of Business Development Assistant. The role will initially be a one year contract subject to satisfactory completion of a three-month probationary period. The contract may be extended beyond one year, subject to successful performance.
The successful applicant will report to the Head of Business Development. This is an office-based role working a 37½-hour week Monday to Friday but may involve occasional weekend work.
The successful candidate must adhere to a vegan diet for the duration of employment with The Vegan Society.

Good knowledge of whether ingredients in food, cosmetics, toiletries, clothing and household products are animal derived
Good telephone manner and customer-service skills

Familiar with email and databases

Ability to follow instructions without reminders
Good keyboard skills
Ability to enter data accurately

Key job functions
Prioritising work as required by the Head of Business Development including:
Checking and processing trademark applications
Contacting companies for trademark renewals and processing the paperwork
Maintaining and updating the trademark database
Invoicing trademark holders
Ensuring invoices are paid on time
Assisting with opening incoming post
Dealing with enquiries
Helping to develop new business
Assisting other staff as and when agreed by the line-manager
Working at festivals and exhibitions, which are sometimes at weekends and may require an overnight stay (Lieu time will apply.)
Salary scale £13,874 to £15,444 depending on experience.
