In ASDA I saw that they were doing tikka masala sauces in the free from section. Which to my delight are free from yogurt or cream or whatever they normally bung in tikka masala sauces, and they use coconut cream instead. I also had this vegetarian ready meal from there, which was like a Moroccan falafel and couscous tagine thing. It wasn't too bad, I had it with Morrison's Moroccan hummus, which is also good. I also like ASDAs Moroccan style burgers. As you can see I'm really digging Moroccan stuff after trying that hummus.

I like interesting food names! I've been reading a load of cookbooks focussing on regional food recently, and the name 'Singing' Hinnies' has stuck in my head (they are a griddle cake that 'sings' as the fat cooks them), every so often as I go about my business the words will pop into my head and make me happy.

Possible band name, eh? I'd totally go to Singing Hinnies concerts.

Morrisons now has own-brand almond milk- both sweetened and unsweeted. They also sell Almond Breeze (sweetened and unsweetened) and at least one other brand, in the large branch near me.

I remember when the only place I could find ANY type of ready-made almond milk was ridiculously expensive, overly sweet stuff in one particular independent shop. It seems to be becoming very popular.

Discovered Ellert peanut puffs in Tesco. They're like wotsits but peanut instead of cheese. They're the bomb!

Sainsbury's has some chocolate wafers in the Jewish section that seem to be vegan! They're super tasty. They also have an Indian lentil and spinach burger in their frozen line which is also pretty tasty.

People of Edinburgh - I found the elusive Co-op/Scotmid donuts at the shop between Princes Street and George Street (on either Frederick Street or Castle Street).

Sainsbos just launched own brand almond milk - sweetened & unsweetened. It's in chilled milk section and only £1 at the moment. Bought unsweetened one to try yesterday, really liked it so going back to get a couple more to put in freezer while they're still only a quid.

I'm not sure if Poundland counts as a supermarket, but they are currently selling bags of Goody Good Stuff Cola Bottles and Peaches for £1 each.

Ooh really? That's good to know. I've seen them for ~80p in Asda before but I can't find them anymore.

Talking of, Asda now sells Lazy Days millionaires shortbread...I've not had any yet because it's pretty expensive but I'm dropping heavy hints so hoping my husband/parents/somebody takes pity on me soon :p

Yup - They have a really good use by date - August 2015

I thought they tasted like mayo!
The salted caramel slice from Chloe's Kitchen is a really good version of Millionaires Shortbread

Oh damn then :p I will have to try that out sometime. I used to love millionaires shortbread and it's one thing I've not managed to recreate yet.

I have also heard that the recipe from The Heretics Guide to Vegan Cookery is really good

No like mayo but we think they have a strange mouth-feel, like weirdly greasy.

There was only one carton Alpro Light in Sainsburys yesterday and I looked at the new own brand milk but decided against it as I did t think it would mimic the 'light'.

Does anyone know what happened to the Choices caramels? I used to be able to get them in most supermarkets but they don't seem to be there anymore!

Sainsburys had them the other week, I know AlternativeStores also has them and the company will let you buy them online (although I think u have to buy about 12 packs)

They had them in Sainsbury's near me last time I was there, I think!
