Is anyone making plans for Brighton yet? I'm pretty sure jojo is gonna have another stall this year (unless they haven't changed the stallholders list from last year).

I was about to book my hotel but hit a snag (see the "space to post things" thread). But Mike and I will definitely be there, and I'm gonna try to make plans to have breakfast with jojo at a new place in town. It would be awesome to meet up with others (either at the fest or for a meal) while we're there. We arrive Friday evening and leave Monday afternoon.

We booked our hotel - yaaay! And because I used reward nights, we spent just over £50 for 3 nights at a 4* hotel. Woo!

Yay! That's awesome Rachell. I'm excited that you guys are coming down again.

I'm going to have my Operation Icing stall there on the Saturday and so I'll definitely be free for brunch / breakfast on Sunday and maaaybe a wander around the fair if I managed to get my packing / washing up done already. I'm going to Japan on the Monday morning!

Ooh, apparently the Vego bar will be available at Brighton VegFest in some way. Exciting.

I know it's still 2 months away, but we'll be available Friday night (possibly pretty late, depending on what train we get), Sunday evening, and Monday morning if anyone wants to meet up for a meal or something outside the event. If we get a late train, we'll probably do Moshimo on Friday (since our hotel is near there and we'll want to eat there at least once).

Ahhhhh, I still can't decide whether to get down for it on the Sunday or not. I'm gonna be in London on the Sunday but I ended up choosing flights for Heathrow rather than Gatwick this time so... GAH. What to do what to do.

Oh, then yeah, totally do it. If you were getting in at noon I would caution against it, but if you can afford to get to Brighton, it's worth it.

so i just realised Brighton vegfest falls on mother's day weekend. i'll have to check with Tim's mum so i don't incur the wrath of the in-laws if i go for both days.

all right, i spoke to her and she said she always looks forward to Mother's Day because all her "chickens" (i.e. children) come to visit. i can't say no when she talks like that.

i'm thinking i'll take the train down on Friday and come back on Saturday evening. Tim hasn't given me a definitive answer as to whether he'll be joining me, but says he's leaning towards no.

I'm thinking of going along for my first ever vegan festival, and first time in Brighton as well! Does anyone have any recommendations on reasonably priced places to stay?

I always use Hotels.com to search for accommodation. Your best bet is a hostel if you don't mind sharing a room with other people (unless anyone here traveling from elsewhere wants to share a room). But I'd book asap - we ended up having to use some free nights we accumulated for our hotel because everything was so expensive, and that was a month ago. Maybe lots of people take their mums to Brighton for Mother's Day.

airbnb.com can also be a good place to look, though a lot of the Brighton-area rooms available aren't much cheaper than some of the hotels.

i just booked a room in the 7 Dials area for Friday the 28th. anybody want to go out that evening?

We're getting a much earlier train than we originally anticipated, so we can do dinner on the Friday. I'd love to do Moshimo but I'm open to other suggestions.

awesome! i've only been to Moshimo the one time 2 years ago, and i'd love to go back. (the other restaurants & cafes can wait until my next visit.)

There's gonna be a vegan festival in Newcastle! Perfect excuse for me to visit my bff.

VegFest is next weekend! Yaaay!

So who can make it out to Moshimo on Friday? What's a good time for others (assuming it's not just me, Mike, and ETK)? We're free any time that evening.

I was thinking more along the lines of 6.30 or 7. Saturday is gonna be crazy for me, so I want to have an early night on Friday. I wonder if we should make reservations.
