I'll be behind the Beelzebab vegan doner stall at Brighton Veg Fest. I'll be the pregnant one eating as much as I'm serving.

That bakery makes the most epic pastries I've ever eaten, vegan or not. And they had cronuts last year!

Who else is going this year? We've already booked our hotel and train - we'll be there from the Friday through to the Tuesday if anyone wants to meet up! We do Moshimo every year (usually on the Friday to accommodate Jojo's schedule, but sadly she won't be there this year), but we're open to other stuff. It looks like V-Bites won't be at VegFest itself*, so we might check out their cafe, and we're doing Pizzaface on Monday (we're staying an extra night just so we can order from their vegan menu).

*Fry's won't be there either, which is a little weird. I wonder why they've backed out this year (they're not in Bristol either).

I'm gonna try and convince Hummus Guy that we need a trip to Brighton, so yeah I think we'll be there. I would be up for dinner Rachel, probably the Saturday though if that works for you? I don't mind where we go. x

The cronuts were my favourite thing. I was told the guy who made them doesn't work there anymore so no more cronuts - boo. (They stock cream cakes these in Vx in London btw.)

I'll probably be in the area for a few days.

We have a hotel booked for the Saturday night. I'm working in the morning on the Saturday so my plan is to go to Vegfest on the Sunday. Excited! :)

Yaayyyyy! Come to Moshimo with us!

ETA: In my excitement about seeing RJM, I forgot to ask 1) what time do we want to do Moshimo (and should we make a reservation) and 2) does anyone want anything brought from Lupe Pintos, or does everyone now have a decent source for liquid smoke and American stuff?

Hah cool thanks! I don't know our schedule yet or who exactly I'll be with but I love Moshimo!

Is anyone familiar with this venue? Would it be stupid to drive (parking options bad?) instead of take the train?

There's a big multi-storey car park right opposite the venue, Randi - but it might be tricky to park in town if you're staying overnight.

As it took me ages to realise I thought I'd add that Brighton is at the Brighton Centre this year rather than the usual Hove Centre, you probably all knew this straight away as I don't always look at things properly but just in case!

Oh, hadn't realised, Katy - thanks! There's still car parking close by under Churchill Square... But get there early!

Not sure - depends on mobility, so if I do get there, it's likely only to be a flying visit.

I thought you'd all want to know that the next Boho Gelato cocktail night is going to be the Saturday night of Veg Fest weekend! It's at Ten Green Bottles which is by Jubilee Square so not too far from the Brighton Centre. They're making this one 100% vegan and it starts at 4:30.

If you haven't heard of the event I blogged about it here when it was at the old location & the cocktails are super good http://veganinbrighton.blogspot.com/201 ... s.html?m=1

^^It's actually the Sunday according to their Facebook page!

Baps and I (and partners) are having dinner at Moshimo on the Saturday. If anyone else wants to join us, let me know asap so I can change the reservation.

Hola
If anyone is heading down today and had their eye on a donner kebab from Beezlebab, I thought I'd give you all a heads up to get there early. For the first 20 minutes or so there was no queue, after that people were queueing for 30-60(!) minutes until we shut at 5pm for a restock. If your timing for a kebab isn't breakfast, be prepared to wait!

(Also, my big fat vegan bakery had sold out by about 1.30ish. Another reason to get there early!)

Leicester Vegan Fair is the 21st November, for any Midlands-dwellers. Should be good, they've moved to a bigger venue (De Montfort Uni), and there's going to be some local comedians and a nice local pub is running the bar.
