I made the Vegan Cookie Connoisseur candy cane cookies ( http://vegancookies.wordpress.com/2009/12/28/christmas-cookies-complete-with-a-video-demo-of-how-to-smash-candy-canes/) with 99p shop candy canes as a thank you present and they went down great. Candy cane cupcakes is definitely my next step after your suggestion.

holy crepe, those candy cane cookies look amazing! How fortuitous seeing as I bought candy canes for my tutor group and then only six of them were in cause of the snow. I am in candy cane surplus!

This totally worked with Sainsbury's candy canes - it does not work with £1 land candy canes! If you want to make candy cane cupcakes just put the candy canes in the frosting!

Suck. I wonder how Superdrug ones might work. If they're vegan- they were behind the counter when I was in the other day and it was stupid busy so I couldn't be bothered to ask. What happened to your cakes?

They're not vegan, they have the bad E-numbers! The candy canes in the cakes melted & then solidified at the bottom of the cakes.

I couldn't get either of the vegan biscuits from Lidl, I got a packet of the spiced ones before Christmas but put them out at a coffee morning and didn't get to try them. The ginger ones were nowhere to be found, pah!
