I'm working in Newport next week and would love some recommendations for places to eat. There's only one cafe listed on HappyCow (Cedars Cafe) so I'm hoping someone here might be able to suggest some more places to go :)

i don't know anything about Newport, but if you come up short there, Cardiff is only a short train ride away.

Unfortunately I'll be working long hours so don't think I'll have time to go outside Newport. However, I did find this handy guide by Eat Out Vegan Wales: http://www.eatoutveganwales.org/Newport.htm

I'll try and visit a few and make sure I update HappyCow when I get back :)

I can't personally vouch for any of these but there are some ok looking options on there.

Cedars Cafe was amazing! Totally awesome all day vegan breakfasts.

I went to Ristorante Vittorio about two years ago and it was wonderful. I'm still trying to duplicate the garlicky pasta with wild mushrooms that I had there...and failing miserably. Boooo.

The best part: I emailed in advance to be sure that they could accommodate vegans and I received a response right away not only listing what was already vegan on their menu, but asking if there was anything specific I'd like them to make. That never happens to me!
