I'd probably drive up (eeep!) so I'd be happy to pick people up from the train/bus station if that would be an issue.

I'm sure it will be. The closest train stations (if this is where we're going) are definitely not within walking distance, and something tells me there won't be a great bus system out there.

Oh, is that different? ;) Can't fly Glasgow to Bournemouth, it seems, and I'm too old to spend two days on a coach!

Not yet! You should come, it'd be cool to see you again! We're aiming for the May school holidays (I'm not sure when that is!) or sometime between mid July & the end of August (school summer holidays)

I've definitely flown Bournemouth to Glasgow and back again, I've only flown four times in my life and that was two of them!

Depending on when we go, you might be able to get a pretty cheap train ticket to London, and the tickets between London and the closest stations are cheap. If the price is the same as the ones I looked at, you could do it for less than £100 return. Unfortunately, thetrainline.com only lets you look as far out as the end of March/beginning of April right now, so it's hard to say what the prices will be for May or July/August.

I got an e-mail from the luckford leisure people & they don't have static caravans.

Whatever we do, wherever we go, should I be there I will be the one with fifty packs of pore strips from Superdrug.

Orrrr... You fly to Exeter and stay with me and I will drive you up. You can definitely megabus London to Exeter if that helps. That's extended to both of you!

I'd rather it was the latter as I am away working in LA (if they let me in to the US) in late May, June and early July. The weather might be half decent by then too.. who am I kidding.

Remember August is more expensive for everything and harder to book.

I was thinking along the same lines as Fezza. Any school breaks are more expensive, but the 6 weeks of summer holidays are ridiculous. We went camping one year during the Paul's kids' time off, and it cost as much as renting a house!

Flights will be stoopidly expensive for those who need them too.

I'm a UK PPK-er, but I probably can't go to this 'coz of exams, and being too young; internet stranger danger and the like... ;)

But if you were still iffy about where to stay (well you do seem to have decided but if something falls through with the Luxford place) I'd definitely recommend Youth Hostels. Lots have camping and also the actual inside the Hostel thing too. (ie beds!)
