I would be happy to order on your behalf and arrange to deliver them to you when they arrive in mid-February. What is the order deadline?

Hmm, she said "a week" but didn't give me an exact date. I'd say next Wednesday to be safe.

Nooooooooo! Peace O' Pie wrote: Dear friends,
With heavy hearts, we must announce the closure of Peace o' Pie's location in Allston. As many of you know, our restaurant was damaged during the recent extreme cold weather and we have been working to recover from those events. There were a number of unforeseen consequences from the damage that occurred and, unfortunately, we were unable to agree to terms with our landlord on resolving those issues.
We have greatly missed serving you during this time. Over the next several months we will be evaluating opportunities for a new location and for new partnerships that will allow us to bring the Peace o' Pie experience back to Boston. We ask that you sign up for our mailing list and remain or become a fan of our Facebook page so that we can let you know any future plans that develop. We also invite you to contact us if you know of any business opportunities we should be aware of.
We can't thank you enough for all of your support and patronage over the last three years.
Yours in peace and pizza,
The Peace o' Pie Team I'm so sad about this!

I feel like a member of my family has died. Or something similar to that feeling.

Man, that sucks. I feel bad for them. Also (selfishly) bummed because I had one Groupon from the recent promotion that I got as a gift so won't be able to use that one now. It's too bad because that block was turning into a real vegan mecca.

Oh, awkward. And Groupon won't refund it to you? Can they give you Groupon credit or something?

b.vicious wrote: Oh, awkward. And Groupon won't refund it to you? Can they give you Groupon credit or something? hmm, I dunno. I could ask them. I just assumed there was no way they could do anything since someone else bought it. I think you can "officially" buy a Groupon as a gift for someone and transfer it to their account, but she just printed out the voucher and gave it to me so there's no way to prove it unfortunately. I could try though.

yeah whatever, it doesn't matter. It's just too bad they're closing. There are quite a few other places around Boston that have Daiya cheese options on their pizzas, but PoP was the only place to have interesting toppings and calzones and strombolis and stuff. It's a bummer to see an all-vegan place go under.

I have high hopes that they'll be able to relocate. Lots of people are suggesting locations and the guy from Eat at Jumbo's wants to collaborate with them. I don't know if they'll be into something like that - I think a PoP owner is also a BVA founder and they're pretty hardcore about vegan-only businesses - but I'm sure they'll work something out.

It would be cool if they moved to Central Square so we could have pizza and Veggie Galaxy right near each other. A lot of times V. Galaxy is just too crowded to get in, and though there are a lot of decent vegan options nearby already, but it would be nice to have another all-veg place to go to.

Finally got to try Fomu this weekend- so freaking good! I got 1/2 salted caramel and 1/2 cake batter. Loved them both but the cake batter was amazing. Next time I'm going up with a cooler!
Also got some no name and wontons, you know, because I was there.

I'm participating in the Walk for Hunger for the 3rd time this year. Anybody interested in walking with me? Or if you don't want to walk, a donation would be great - I think they take them as low as $10. Here's the link: http://www.projectbread.org/goto/brandybingham
