Yay! This is our second annual craft show! The last one got a great response, and hopefully this one will too. All vendors are professional crafters who have made a donation to the Milton Animal League, and some are donating a portion of their proceeds too. There will be a wide variety of crafts: pet products, candles, soaps, jewellery, wood crafts, paper crafts, holiday crafts, everything crafts! Indoors location on the South Shore, just outside of Boston. Date: Saturday, October 15th, 2011 Time: 9:30am to 3:00pm Place: Cunningham Park Hall-- 75 Edge Hill Rd, Milton MA 02186 Facebook Event Page: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=135725183190448Shelter Website Thingy: http://www.miltonanimalleague.orgThere will also be a fun raffle, and a bake sale (baked good donations accepted!). YOU SHOULD TOTALLY GO. P.S. Last year, my crazy uncle was telling people to bring their pets. DO NOT LISTEN TO MY CRAZY UNCLE. This is a humans-only event.

Also, if anyone wants to post this info other places, that would be super helpful! Because I'm pretty sure there's no way in hell I'm going to get a newsletter made up and mailed out before the date, and that is one of the ways we usually advertise. I don't think we have a flyer made up yet, but when we do, I'll post it here. The animals say thank you!

If I'm still in Boston and not working, I'm planning on this.

And you were the first (and so far the only) PPKer I have met in real life! Dr. Apricot wrote: If I'm still in Boston and not working, I'm planning on this. I was going to say that I hope you are still in Boston and not working then, but that's a terrible thing to say, isn't it? Everyone should come to the craft fair and say hi and I will awkwardly try (and fail) to make small talk with you!

I put it on my calendar as a maybe. I'm planning to be out on my motorcycle that day if the weather cooperates... so it's possible that I could stop by if I end up in that direction!

Yes, yes, head towards Milton. It's all lovely and suburb-y. And I'm sure the weather will be wonderful that day. And I'll bake cookies. Or whatever you want. And then sell them to you.
Everyone, tell your friends, your neighbours, your dentist! We don't have the resources to do as much promotion this year, but I'm still hoping for a good turn out.

For some reason I had my weekends mixed up and was thinking that this was during the 3-day weekend. Now that I see it's not, assuming the weather stays awesome, it's even more likely that I'll come out! It's much more fun to ride my motorcycle when I have a destination and that weekend is much more open schedule-wise!

Yay! It's funny, a lot of people thought it was this past weekend. The paper actually sent a photographer out on Saturday, and of course no one was there!
So far the forecast is showing low 60s on Saturday, no rain. Hopefully that's correct! The hall is bordering a park with nice walking trails and a playground. So if anyone wants to buy lots of crafts and then play on a swing set, we've got you covered!

Sigh. I have to work on Saturday. But have fun without me!

Awwww! My schedule is bad that day too, and I'm really sad that I might miss a portion of it. I got a lot of christmas shopping done last year. Gonna try my best to get there on time! If anyone want to help out by putting a few flyers up, you can print one here.

Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow! I just did some frantic "omg what can I make with the few ingredients I have on hand" baking for the bake sale, so... the results should be interesting (and hopefully edible!).
Everyone should stop by and buy stuff! Even you creepy lurkers. I know you're reading this. You need to buy some crafts.

Did anyone stop by? I only got to be there for the last hour. We made a good amount of money on the bake sale and the raffle. I'll post total profits here when we figure them out.

I'd totally forgot that I'd made plans to go to Newport with my best friend (for her first marathon!) so I didn't make it out. I wish I could have... it was totally a perfect motorcycle riding day!

It was a super nice day, which worked against us, I think, as people wanted to be outside and not cooped up in a hall. It was also a HUGE day for kids' soccer, which we hadn't thought of. So unfortunately we didn't get as many people as we did last year, even though we did more advertising this time around. The total from the raffle, bake sale, and crafters' fees was about $1,375. Some of the crafters are going to donate a portion of their proceeds, so we don't know the full profit yet. Someone mentioned it to us as a good fundraiser, but we don't really have any idea how those things work.
