Hi y'all. I'm planning on attending a conference for a few days in Boston and will be staying at the Seaport Hotel & World Trade Centre. None of the meals are provided and I will have about an hour for lunch during conference days. Any suggestions for something that is good and close?
Or, if not/also, where can I stock up on some food for my other meals?
Thanks very much!

Pennypackers is a food truck on the corner of Northern ave & Tide that usually has a veganizable sandwich or salad. Beware the latter part of the week (recently it's been chevre & apple sandwich...apple sandwiches, while delicious, are not expecially filling, in my opinion). Flour bakery in the other direction has a good tofu sandwich and a good hummus sandwich and usually a vegan muffin and cake, but they can be almost out the door busy. As for stocking up for your other meals.. There's a whole foods near Charles MGH station or a 1.5-2 mile walk away. If you go to the back bay, you can get a trader joes, a shaws and a whole foods within a mile of each other. That would also not be hard to get to, but a little out of your way. (Green line to hynes-ish or orange line to back bay or mass ave)
Additionally, if you go to pennypackers (they post their daily menu on facebook) let me know! I'll come eat with you since I work really close by.

Thanks SO much, lillianp! I should be there the first week in June, and I'll let you know the exact dates once I make the reservations. I know nothing about Boston public transport- is it difficult?
Come with, Adam. Show me around.

I also work pretty close by! (lillianp, we have to plan to get together for lunch one of these days!)
Oh, and I second the recommendations for Clover and Flour.

b.vicious, Yes we do! And Meggs, yeah, just let me know! PM will likely better get my attention. Sometimes I miss the new england threads. As for the public transit, it's not perfect, but it's decent. the world trade center/convention center are on the silver line which is sort of a bus type thing and it brings you to the redline, so you may find it easiest to go places on the red line (veggie galaxy in central square cambridge and whole foods near Charles MGH station) But the green line's not hard to transfer to and it's just four or five stops down that one (all short distance stops) to get to the other places.

Come with, Adam. Show me around. nope, totally easy to get around if youre used to any form of public transportation...youre staying right where I stayed last year and its a nice 5 or 6 block walk to the subway station Id totally go because I think Boston rules, but I'll be in Austin then

Yea!! I want to meet up if you have time. Agree with Clover and Flour recommendations.

if you want one of those amazing chocolate cupcakes from flour, go early in the day. they run out so quickly. by lunchtime, it's probably already gone.

Oh, if you end up having time and do a meetup, let me know. I might be able to go!

Thanks for your help, Boston folks. Well, I waited too long to book and the hotel is sold out. I'm so bummed.

Bummer! :( I'm trying to think of any other hotels in the area and I'm pretty sure they're all the fancy-pants ones. There's probably one or two somewhere relatively nearby that might be close enough?
