We're gonna do a little 3day trip up from NYC, probably rent a cottage or something, next month and are considering the Berkshire area (I guess like Stockbridge, Great Barrington etc). I'm slightly familiar with the area because I went to college in southern Vermont but it's been years. So, any towns you recommend? Specifically interested in some easy hikes since we'll be with small children, and I know there's some great art to be seen up there too..

Only been there once, but we loved the Norman Rockwell museum. It also had a Berenstain Bears exhibit when we were there.

Audrey, sorry I missed this! I like the hikes right around Great Barrington on the AT. There's a ravine on the CT/MA line that's really pretty, Sage's Ravine. I think there's some easy hiking into it but am not positive where.

If it's already happened, I hope it was fun!
