Not sure if this is in the right place, but my friend just told me today that a new vegan bakery has opened in Pawtucket! I don't see a website, but here's their facebook. I guess it's a combo bakery/juice bar/raw foods/cafe place, and it's right next to Garden Grille. I can't wait to go! As soon as it stops snowing. My friend also sent me a couple pictures:

I'm really excited for this and can't wait to stop in next time I am on my way to Providence.

So now this is kind of unfair. Now, when I gorge myself at Garden Grille, I'm going to have to find even more room for pastries and coffee!
This is a great problem to have...

I really want to get down there and try it. I LOVE Garden Grille and my BFF lives in Cranston so it's a good excuse to visit!

How cool!! I wish I lived nearby. I don't think there is a vegan bakery in all of Texas. I could be wrong about that. I just moved here a few months ago from Europe.
My dad's hometown is Pawtucket! I love that little town.

I stopped in Tuesday night after dinner with a friend at Garden Grille. Apparently 12/21 was opening night.
We got red velvet cupcakes and vegan hot chocolate, it was pretty great.
The owner put in some really neat skylights and he said it is beautiful during the day.

This is off-topic, but if you go to Rasoi, the Indian restaurant right next door to garden Grille & Wildflour... they have delicious vegan & gf items, marked on the menu as such, and the staff is super helpful about telling you which other items are vegan/gf. They also have a gluten free vegan brunch every Saturday AM which is to die for. :)

I'm sooo excited to try this out! So many times I've eaten at Nice Slice and wanted a dessert with none to be had.

we went this morning and i got one of the pecan sticky buns - REALLY good.
michael got a chocolate chip scone that we haven't tried.
he also got the pourover coffee which was... you know, coffee. nothing special. we'd probably just get brewed from now on.
one nit picky thing: it irks me when vegan places have dairy for coffee. i get the idea behind it. but it makes me a little stabby.

Sweet Avenue refuses to do so, and apparently at least 1x a week they have someone come in and have a meltdown because they can't get dairy milk. Those people wouldn't survive for a a few days as vegans! Can you imagine what would happen if we had meltdowns everytime we couldn't get soymilk?

I noticed that in one of the photos they posted on facebook and was a little disappointed. Are people who are really open to a vegan cafe that creeped out by non-dairy milk? I think Evolution (in Northampton) used to have dairy for coffee, but they stopped. Anyway, glad to hear that what you had was good! Was it all baked goods or did they have savory stuff too?
