I would highly recommend checking out FÜD before you leave, Kansas City's all vegan restaurant. It's all american style stuff, but in a good way using simple ingredients. If anyone, omni or not, asked me where they could find the best shakes in KC at, I would tell them FÜD. They're that good.

There's supposed to be a Cafe Gratitude opening up soon on 20th St, but I'm having trouble finding any info about it.

We are right around the corner of 19th and Wyandotte. There are people in the Cafe Gratitude working to get it open every day. It's across the street a bit from Crossroads Coffee. Not open yet, but looks like it won't be long.

I was just coming here to post about Cafe Gratitude! Making a trip to KC today so I'm hoping that their desserts are just as good as the SF one.

We have been there several times now. I haven't been to the one on SF so I can't compare. But it's pretty fantastic for KC. On par with Real Food Daily, Chicago Diner, Red Bamboo - only a tad healthier.

The I am Grateful bowl is good, the tamales also, if they are on the menu today, and the nachos are sublime. The raw pad thai is great too if it is on the menu today. The I am Extraordinary sandwich was pretty good as well.

The last time we were in SF we splurged on St Francis Fountain breakfast - the Nebulous Potato Thing! followed by a Dynamo Donut for dessert. :p

Man, I really wanted to try Cafe Gratitude before I left the KC-area, but it opened as I made my exit, lol. I'll have to check it out when I come back for a visit!
