I'm originally from the kzoo area. I went up there last weekend and discovered vegan options--real legit options at the Studio Grill downtown:

West Michigan has gotten quite vegan friendly in recent years! (Well, I can only attest to recent years, because up until 2 years ago I paid no attention). I've had a few delicious vegan meals in K-zoo. Next time, venture another hour up to Grand Rapids!

We got a pizzeria with a vegan menu, a bar with a vegan menu, a new worker-owned vegan restaurant that only uses the produce they get each day, etc! I love living up here and am going to miss it when I move to Florida next year! Hopefully can find some vegan goodies in Gainesville....

I've been talking to another PPKer about the awesomeness of GR. Not to mention y'all have a really hot roller derby team.

I've yet to check out the roller derby team, but I've heard good things! I think I get a bit intimidated, as a fairly large 25 year old dude, about being surrounded by many, many women who could kick my asparagus.

But you should for sure come visit. I love this place a lot.

I have family and friends in kzoo. I'll keep y'all posted when I come into town. My buddy Mari is on the derby team. She's a librarian for Ferris State.

And I wouldn't worry about the derby dames. If anything, I find that the sexual energy is higher than the asparagus kicking energy.

Michigan is getting more and more vegan friendly all the time! I miss the Ann Arbor/Ypsi area (especially ypsi!) like crazy, and it seems like every time I go home there are better options and more vegan food abounds!
Good to hear about GR - I'm going to be up there for a friend's wedding this summer and will be needing food.

My family will be traveling to the Kalamazoo area in a couple weeks. Can anyone list some other vegan options besides Studio Grill? Thanks!

There's a new one called Fuel on the corner of Alcott and Burdick. I have not been there yet.

Does anyone have a favorite middle eastern place in Dearborn?
