The Cary Farmers' Market is on Sundays from 9-1, way in the back of the Metra Station parking lot. It was already a nice market, with a good selection of fresh, organic, locally grown produce. A couple weeks ago, I noticed that there were some gluten free baked goods at Deanne's Desserts tent, but didn't see anything vegan. So I asked. She said she didn't have anything vegan but would work on it. Today she had GF & Vegan Apple Strawberry Spice Bars! When I got home and opened my box to smell the bars, I just about fell over at how amazing they smelled. They taste every bit as good as they smell, and have a light delicate texture. They are pretty much perfection. She says next week she might have chocolate cupcakes. If everything she makes is as good as these bars, I am looking forward to it all! So, for all of you who live in the NW suburbs of chicago, or are on a road trip through the area: visit the Cary Farmers' Market, and stop off at Deanne's Desserts tent for some vegan treats!
