Also allowed is yelling about bugs being near you or the food you want to put in your mouth.

I got Squash Vine Borers this year. They killed my zucchini plants and they look like giant maggots. They are not my favorite animal.

Hey - you come and see Tidbit, Kelly, Fee or me before you worry about bugs. I found one a 2" palmetto bug in the library today.

Sounds like an earwig? I'd take them anyday over slugs.

I'll admit, that's probably the hardest part of being a vegan. Blasto brought home a bug fact book from the library and I have a major case of the willies. Examples: house flies have taste buds on their feet-(which sounds pretty cool, but not on my food), cockroaches have parts of their brain scattered all throughout their body, so they can live 168 days without a head, and the longest centipede recorded was 22 inches long. Blech.

It's true. Florida is bug central. Also, HUGE asparagus spiders. Some summers, our backyard is just draped in giant banana spider webs.

edit- cockroaches can live 168 hours without a head because their brain is scattered throughout the rest of their body.

I haaaaaate when spiders try to hitch a ride on my shoulder as I'm walking! DON'T YOU KNOW HOW DISGUSTING YOU ARE?

(Also, I feel really vegan because I actually feel bad I dislike spiders so much, I know they don't deserve it but EW.)

I can pretty much handle most bugs and in fact I really like spiders. But, when I bring in the weekly haul of chard and kale and a few earwigs fall into the sink and start scurrying around, I completely lose my shiitake... Even the word 'earwig' makes me cringe!

I think that's completely natural. The word EAR is in the insect name, and they have pincers! I think of the song by The Dead Milkmen.

I know! Earwigs are basically the exact same as those bugs from Wrath of Khan. It's a scientific fact!

It's usually the noise that bothers me more than anything. I hate hate HATE it when a bug buzzes in my ear. I shudder and want to run.

Earwigs are the worst - we get them in the house every summer when it gets humid - they creep me out more than any other bug! I have a huge fear of something laying eggs in my ear and that is what they are famous for!!

I keep thinking this is about bug penises.

Biteybugs apparently love pregnant women - sweeter and supersized I guess. Stop biting me! I'm itchy.

I love spiderlings! It makes me sad, though, that cannibalism is their SOP.

Also, I'm with everyone else on having no great love for earwigs. Brrr.

I had to go to promptcare a couple weeks ago because some unknown bug stung/bit me in MY OWN bed and I had an allergic reaction. I felt the bite/sting, pulled back the covers, and saw NOTHING. I keep a decently clean home, so I was baffled. I still changed my clothes, the sheets, and vacuumed the hell out of the bedroom. ((((shivers))))
