leaf compost. oh my soul.

until i found the hay and sugarcane, there was literally nothing else. Except for post-harvest soybean hulls, and I know they are sprayed and i know what they spray that shiitake with, and i do not want that in my yard. I can only shred so much paper and we have a spot of lawn just slightly larger than a bathtub, and no pine trees anywhere nearby. I never know I would miss leaf litter so much.

and here i was thinking there were trees all over the place in brazil. (or is it because they don't drop their leaves? i must know!)

most of our trees are evergreenish (oranges, leathery leaves) and we don't have abrupt seasonal change like you do up north. temps go up and down all year, so leaves come and go all year unless you have a maple or some exotic.
