A lot of my seeds are from the harvest of the previous year, the rest I usually just buy at the store when the seeds come out. However, there's a lot of stuff that I want to grow that isn't found in regular stores (dinosaur kale, purple basil, arugula, etc). I was thinking of buying seeds off of Etsy but I'm not sure how reliable that is. Does anyone know about buying seeds from Etsy? And what is your favorite place to buy seeds online?

i like that they only sell things that will grow in their climate, which is the same as mine (and yours, too, yeah?). so i know i won't get overly excited about something that's not going to grow that great in new england.

i've also gotten things from seed savers exchange: http://www.seedsavers.org
potatoes, carrots, beets, and some radishes. things that i know will grow here.

I like buying from a small canadian company called Cubits. They have an etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/cubits

I've had a consistently good experience with Seed Savers.

My favorite is www.wildgardenseeds.com. It specializes in the wholesale market, so a lot of the organic seed (primarily greens) you can buy from other organic seed companies comes from them. Their packets are very generous, and the seed is fresher. I'm so bummed that organic onion seed I bought from "Seeds of Change" this year was at least 4 years old, based on packet info, and not one germinated.
